USADA suspends Chi Lewis-Parry for failed drug tests, ‘falsified evidence’ under UFC policy

On Friday, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency handed a four-year suspension to kickboxer Chi Lewis-Parry for multiple violations of the UFC anti-doping policy. Lewis-Parry, 37, never has competed in the UFC, but he’s stated his intentions to eventually fight for promotion and thus had entered its USADA-administered drug testing pool. Lewis-Parry, who’s from Surrey, U.K., made headlines earlier this year for saying former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will “never ever be, ever, a good man” because of his past transgressions. The ruling against Lewis-Parry was handed down by USADA on the recommendation of an independent arbitrator after a Nov.

Lewis-Parry (8-0-2) and Jones (26-1 MMA, 20-1 UFC) have had a frosty relationship stemming back to skirmishes when Lewis-Parry was part of Daniel Cormier’s training camp to face Jones. Brandon Vera Brandon Vera has a new opponent for Friday’s title fight at ONE Championship 35. Company president Victor Cui today announced Paul Cheng (5-1) has replaced Chi Lewis Parry (6-0), and he now fights former UFC fighter Vera (13-7) for the organization’s inaugural heavyweight title. “ONE Championship 35: Spirit of Champions” takes place Dec. 11 in the Philippines at Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena. It streams as an online pay-per-view in North America. According to Cui, Lewis Parry “failed to submit his medical results and his drug tests” and “decided not to board the plane departing from London to Manila.” His full announcement (via Facebook ): As of this morning, Lewis Parry hadn’t addressed the change or Cui’s allegations.

Vera (13-7), a UFC vet who debuted with the Asian promotion in late 2014, will fight budding rival Chi Lewis Parry (6-0) at “ONE Championship 35: Spirit of Champions,” officials today announced. The event takes place Dec. 11 in the Philippines at Manila’s Mall of Asia Arena. The card is expected to stream as online pay-per-view in North America. “We’re thrilled to be returning to Manila to bring our loyal fans one of the biggest fights of the year,” ONE Championship CEO Victor Cui stated.

Things didn’t look good for Eric Kelly (11-1) in his bout with Rob Lisita (14-6), but a refusal to relent eventually earned “The Natural” a chance to score a surprising victory. The featherweight bout served as the featured contest of Friday’s “ONE FC 18: War of Dragons” event. Lisita was the aggressor from the outset, battering his foe punches kicks and knees as he forced Kelly to the floor and looked for submission opportunities. Kelly had one chance to reverse his fortunes in a scramble, as he briefly had a chance to take his opponent’s back, but Lisita scrambled and avoided the trouble spot as he continued the assault. In the second frame, Lisita blasted his opponent in the face, and Kelly’s nose instantly starting gushing blood
