Marcus Brimage It appears the UFC has initiated a fairly substantial trimming of its roster. On Friday, “The Ultimate Fighter 19” Eddie Gordon announced the UFC has cut him . Soon after, a number of other fighters confirmed they, too, received their walking papers. And it sounds like far more could be on the way. Brimage (7-5 MMA, 4-4 UFC), a quarterfinalist on “TUF 14,” won his first three UFC fights, defeating notables such as Maximo Blanco and Jimy Hettes in the process.

UFC 186 post-fight facts: Champ Demetrious Johnson makes history – again

Nordine Taleb MONTREAL – In three rounds of action, the only respite Chris Clements managed to get from the suffocating attack of Nordine Taleb was when he accidentally kicked him in the groin early in the first frame. Even that only bought Clements (12-6 MMA, 2-2 UFC) a few precious moments to breathe before Taleb (11-2 MMA, 3-0) got back to the business of taking him down, mauling him with punches and elbows, and grinding his way to a unanimous decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). The welterweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 186 event at Bell Centre in Montreal. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and a main card on pay-per-view. Clements refused to go gently, but he simply couldn’t find an answer for Taleb’s takedowns and top control. Over and over again he found himself hauled down by double-legs and trips.

The five-fight main card airs on pay-per-view following a four-fight prelim broadcast on FOX Sports 1 and three prelims on UFC Fight Pass. Chris Clements Next month’s UFC 186 card in Montreal is the latest event to get a change to the preliminary card. With Claudio Silva (11-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) out, Nordine Taleb (10-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) will get a new opponent: Canada’s own Chris Clements (12-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC). UFC officials announced the change today. UFC 186 takes place April 25 at Montreal’s Bell Centre. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

UFC Fight Night 55 results: Chris Clements returns, brutalizes Vik Grujic in first round

SYDNEY – One short knee to the head from inside the clinch was the beginning of the end for Vik Grujic . The overhand rights from Chris Clements (12-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) that followed soon became the end of the end, as Grujic (7-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) went wobbly and then went down, prompting referee Herb Dean to call a stop to it at 3:06 of round one. The flyweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night55 event at Allphones Arena in Sydney. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
