Next month’s Bellator return to Connecticut now is complete with the addition of six fights for the preliminary card, including the highly touted pro MMA debuts of a pair of elite collegiate wrestlers. Officials today announced the new bookings for Bellator 163, which is set for Nov. 4 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., with a main card on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie. In the main event, light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary puts his title on the line against former UFC standout Phil Davis. Added to the prelims today were a middleweight fight between Ed Ruth (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Mark Mangiardi (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), both of whom will be making their pro debuts; a heavyweight bout between debutants Tyrell Fortune (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Cody Miskell (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA); a catchweight fight between Neiman Gracie (4-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) and Rudy Bears (16-14 MMA, 2-6 BMMA); Keenan Raymond (3-3 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) vs. the debuting Kastroit Xhema (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA); Tom English (6-6 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) vs.

Makashvili (9-2-1) tapped Soriano (9-5) at the 4:05 mark of the second round with a rear-naked choke, giving him a pair of wins for CES MMA since his release from the UFC. CES MMA will return to Connecticut next month, and its next card will include a pair of UFC veterans squaring off at featherweight. Levan Makashvili (11-2-1) will take on Sean Soriano (9-4) at CES MMA 38, promotion officials today announced. In addition, a featherweight bout between Calvin Kattar (15-2) and Chris Foster (9-4) was announced, as was a flyweight fight featuring Carlos Candelario (4-0) vs. Brandon Warne (1-1)

Patricio Freire The fight card is staking shape for next month’s Bellator 153 event in Connecticut. Bellator 153 takes place April 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie. As previously announced welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov (18-1 MMA, 9-1 BMMA) meets promotional newcomer and ex-UFC titleholder Benson Henderson (23-5 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) in the headliner. In a newly announced co-headliner, Patricio Freire (24-3 MMA, 12-3 BMMA), who fights for the first time since losing his featherweight title to Daniel Straus in November, takes on fellow 145-pounder John Teixeira (19-1-2 MMA, 3-0 BMMA), a onetime UFC fighter who’s picked up three split-decision wins – over Scott Cleve, Fabricio Guerreiro and Gleristone Santos – since joining Bellator in 2014. Also on the main card, former welterweight title challenger Brennan Ward (13-3 MMA, 8-3 BMMA) looks for his fifth straight stoppage win when he takes on promotional newcomer and big-show vet Evangelista Santos (20-16 MMA, 0-0 BMMA).
