LFA 33 highlights: Kevin Wirth’s ‘Sweet Chin Music’ and NFL vet Greg Hardy’s 14-second win

The finishes were quick and decisive at Friday’s LFA 33, but the main-card opener might’ve been the most impressive. In the first AXS TV-televised bout at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, Kevin Wirth (5-0) blasted Isaiah Gutierrez (4-1) with a nifty third-round head kick. The blow was reminiscent of former WWE star Shawn Michaels’ “Sweet Chin Music” finisher and clearly impressed commentator Pat Miletich, who was on the call. While the rest of the LFA 33 highlights are available above, here’s Wirth’s crafty kick (via YouTube ): In the night’s headliner, undefeated welterweight Kyle Stewart (9-0) scored a unanimous-decision win over a very game Jaleel Willis (8-1), and in the co-headliner, former UFC fighter Damon Jackson (14-2-1) continued his recent surge with a technical submission victory over Chris Pecero (14-8). Also on the card, we saw three consecutive rear-naked-choke wins

Former NFLer Greg Hardy set for amateur MMA bout at ‘LFA 33: Willis vs. Stewart’

Two undefeated welterweights have taken top billing on next month’s LFA 33 lineup, which also features NFC vet Greg Hardy ’s third MMA bout. Officials today announced former U.S. Marine Kyle Stewart (9-0) and Memphis native Jaleel Willis (8-0) will meet in the main event. LFA takes place Feb. 16 at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, and the main card airs on AXS TV.

Giles overcome a first-round deficit with his well-rounded skills; a bigger uppercut set up the fight-ending choke. RFA 41 took place at Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, and the main card aired on AXS TV

In a bit of a shocker, Myron Dennis became Legacy Fighting Championship’s new light heavyweight titleholder, upsetting UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator veteran Paul Buentello . Dennis took a split decision from “The Headhunter” in a close fight at Legacy FC 29. He took a pair of 49-46 scores to a 48-47 for Buentello, though the early buzz was that many saw the fight the other way. Legacy FC 29 took place at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Okla.
