UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey appeared on a recent Google Hangout chat with Fox Sports Correspondents Megan Olivi, Garath Davis and Mike Chiapetta where she discussed the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter , how she chose her coaching staff, the pressures of being the face of women’s MMA and of course, Miesha Tate . “I had pretty much most of the people from Miesha’s team come up to me and tell me they wished they were on our team at some point. And I can guarantee you that nobody from my team ever said that to her,” said Rousey. “She spent more time doing her hair than checking on her athletes,” she added. UFC women’s middleweight champion Ronda Rousey says coaching season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter has been emotionally taxing and tiring, but the experience exceeded her expectations. Rousey (7-0) was named the first female coach of the popular reality show and was originally supposed to coach opposite Cat Zingano . Zingano earned the opportunity to coach The Ultimate Fighter and solidified her place as No. 1 contender to Rousey’s crown by defeating Miesha Tate in April. A knee injury, however, forced Zingano off the show and out of the anticipated title fight with Rousey. She was replaced by Rousey’s longtime rival, Tate. During the UFC 161: Henderson vs. Evans media day on June 14, UFC president Dana White said the filming of this season of the reality is going “bad.” “Miesha and Ronda hate each other,” said White. “It’s like literally crazy drama every day.” For Rousey, coaching has been more work than she anticipated. “It’s a lot more work than I thought it would be, and it’s a lot more emotionally taxing than I thought it would be. You care a lot about these kids. I just felt like any kind of heartbreak or triumph, whatever they’re going through, I share in it. It’s exhausting going through that over and over and over with every competitor,” she said during a Facebook chat sponsored by Metro PCS on Wednesday

Joe Warren literally had a front-row seat for the unscripted reactions of the welterweight contestants on “Bellator MMA: Fight Master,” and his suspicion that he’d lose the show’s popularity contest wasn’t far off. To be fair, the competition for coaching was stiff. As winning fighters walked out of the cage to choose who would guide them through the reality show, they were greeted by a quartet of MMA notables: Randy Couture , Greg Jackson, Frank Shamrock and Warren. When fighters interviewed them for the job, you probably can guess which one got the most attention “A lot of the foreign fighters had like, a boy crush on Randy,” Warren (8-3 MMA, 6-2 BFC) told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com). So Warren, an ex-Bellator champ, did what good fighters do and adapted. “I tried to push that I’m the only person that’s actually a Bellator guy, that’s fought two tournaments and won a belts for them,” said the 36-year-old fighter, who previously won the promotion’s Season 2 tournament and the featherweight belt. “So I sold the idea that I understand the organization. If you want to be a champ, you’ve gotta come with me.” You can see the results as the teams begin to form over the next few weeks.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is slated for a special Fighter’s Cut episode of UFC Tonight on Fuel TV on Tuesday night. During Fighter’s Cut, Rousey sits down and recounts what was going through her head as she walked out for her first championship bout with Miesha Tate . That was when Tate was the Strikeforce champion and Rousey was the “undeserving” challenger whose credentials were being called into question. While many questioned whether she should be in the cage with Tate, Rousey remembers the time fondly, saying, “Let the two pretty girls fight, everybody will love it.” Rousey and Tate have now swapped places as the head into coaching stints on The Ultimate Fighter Season 18 , and then square off at series’ end with Rousey’s UFC belt on the line. Fabricio Werdum Offers to Coach Ultimate Fighter: Mexico Opposite UFC Champ Cain Velasquez

UFC heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum recently finished being a coach on the second season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil opposite Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira . He has offered to do it again in Mexico opposite UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez . The Brazilian does UFC commentary in Spanish and could be a perfect fit for the job. “I mentioned about doing an Ultimate Fighter in Mexico. For those who don’t know, I am a commentator for the UFC in Spanish because I can speak in Spanish as a commentator because I lived many years in Spain,” said Werdum. “I gave the idea to the UFC about doing an Ultimate Fighter against Cain Velasquez in Mexico.” There’s one major hiccup in him coaching opposite Velasquez.

With Rogerio Nogueira Injured, Chael Sonnen Lobbies for UFC 161 Bout with Shogun Rua

Chael Sonnen has never been one to shy away from poking and prodding his way into a fight, something he’s trying to do again with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira injured and out of his UFC 161 bout with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Sonnen offered his services on last-minute notice when Dan Henderson was injured and fell out of his scheduled UFC 151 bout with Jon Jones . The fight didn’t happen then, but Sonnen was later rewarded for his offer with a coaching slot opposite Jones on season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter and a shot at the champ at UFC 159. Sonnen lost the bout to Jones, but regardless of the outcome, his stock rose to an all-time high. Love him or hate him, everyone knows the name Chael Sonnen. After deciding not to retire following the Jones fight, Sonnen tried to goad Wanderlei Silva into a fight, but the Brazilian was slow on the uptake and Sonnen moved on. With Nogueira withdrawing from the Shogun bout due to reported trouble with his back, Sonnen pounced on the opportunity to throw his name in the mix as a possible replacement. He tweeted a message out to Shogun, noting that he is currently without a fight and available to step in… utilizing his unique vernacular.
