The lineup for this month’s Victory FC 58 event is now complete with the addition of seven new bouts to support a previously announced main event. Featuring a welterweight bout of Dakota Cochrane (28-12) vs. Maki Pitolo (8-3), Victory FC 58 takes place July 22 at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Neb. The card streams live on UFC Fight Pass. Daniel Gallemore made his second title defense look pretty easy, tapping Daniel James in the first round to retain his Victory FC heavyweight belt. Gallemore rocked James with heavy punches before walking the challenger across the cage with neck control. As soon as Gallemore found some cage, the cranking started, and the guillotine forced the finish at the 1:24 mark of the opening frame. Victory FC 57 took place at Kansas Expocentre in Topeka, Kan., and streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Kevin Gray meets Nick Mamalis for vacant flyweight title in Victory FC 57 co-main event

A second title will be on the line next month when Victory FC returns to Kansas. Kevin Gray (8-3) will take on Nick Mamalis (18-10) for the promotion’s vacant flyweight belt at Victory FC 57. Promotion officials announced the new co-headliner today. Victory FC 57 takes place May 5 at Kansas Expocentre in Topeka, Kan. The card will air live on UFC Fight Pass. In the main event, heavyweight champion Daniel Gallemore will put his title on the line against UFC veteran Razak Al-Hassan

Anthony Smith Three years ago, Josh Neer was there to welcome Anthony Smith back to the regional MMA scene with a submission loss, his third straight after disappointments in the now-defunct Strikeforce and the UFC. At Friday’s Victory FC 47, it was Smith’s turn to deliver a letdown. Neer, returning to the UFC Fight Pass-streamed promotion after a pair of defeats in Bellator, found himself overwhelmed by a series of punches and elbows that forced referee intervention at the 3:27 mark of the opening frame. Sporting a hat that read, “Call me, Dana,” Smith directed his post-fight speech toward UFC President Dana White in hopes of making a better impression than the first-round submission loss that marked his lone octagon appearance. “Dana White, last time I had an opportunity to show you what I could do, and I didn’t,” Smith said. “But my name’s Anthony Smith, and I’d like a shot.” Smith (24-11) now claims the Victory FC middleweight title and his seventh straight win, while Neer (36-16-1), a replacement for Elvis Mutapcic (15-4) after he signed with the UFC, drops to 0-3 in his past three outings.

Pat Curran Following Goiti Yamauchi ’s withdrawal from Bellator 139, former featherweight champion Pat Curran has a new opponent for the June 26 card. Officials today announced Emmanuel Sanchez (10-1 MMA, 12-0 BMMA) has replaced Yamauchi (18-2 MMA, 4-1 BMMA) and now fights Curran (20-7 MMA, 10-4 BMMA) on the event’s main card.
