The first episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 18″ has yet to air, but the season’s live finale already has a date and a venue. Nevada State Athletic Commission officials today revealed that UFC execs have requested permission to conduct a Nov. 30 event at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay Events Center that would air on FOX Sports 1. While UFC officials declined to comment on the new date, sources close to the event informed MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that fight card would serve as the live finale of “The Ultimate Fighter 18.” NSAC officials will address the application at their next regularly scheduled monthly meeting, which takes place Aug.

UFC 162 medical suspensions: Tokudome, Siver, Mitchell draw longest terms

Following a hard-fought, three-round affair with Norman Parke , Japanese lightweight Kazuki Tokudome drew a six-month medical suspension, making him the lone fighter to draw such a term at this past Saturday’s UFC 162 event. Nevada State Athletic Commission officials today forwarded the event’s medical suspensions to MMAjunkie.com. UFC 162 took place July 6 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The night’s main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook. Tokudome can be cleared early by an ear, nose and throat doctor or ophthalmologist after clearing a potential right orbital blowout fracture

Herb Dean Tapped to Officiate Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman UFC 162 Main Event

Referee Herb Dean will control the cage when Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman square off for Silva’s UFC middleweight championship. Nevada State Athletic Commission officials on Friday assigned Dean as the referee for the bout. They also named Adalaide Byrd, Marcos Rosales and Patricia Morse Jarman as the fight’s judges. Silva and Weidman headline UFC 162 , which takes place on July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White recently took aim at referee Steve Mazzagatti , heavily criticizing the official’s actions in the World Series of Fighting 3 main event between Jon Fitch and Josh Burkman. His criticism of Mazzagatti was followed by concern that his comments might be met with retaliation from the commission
