The writing was on the wall when Invicta FC on Tuesday announced it had signed former Bellator fighter Felice Herrig to a multi-fight contract, and then Jessica Eye and Jessica Aguilar , two of the top female fighters around, announced via Twitter that Bellator had released them from their contracts. With those three powerhouses gone, Bellator was left with zero women on its roster. The UFC currently has an iron grip on the women’s bantamweight (135-pound) division, ruled by champion Ronda Rousey . Invicta FC – an all women’s fight promotion – is the go-to home for the rest of women’s MMA, with most of the best women in the world fighting for the fledgling promotion. That left Bellator with very few options when trying to line up legitimate competitors for the fighters it had under contract. Saul Rogers among recent Cage Warriors signings to exclusive deals

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship continues to bolster its roster with the signings of six more fighters to exclusive deals. Promotion officials recently announced new contracts for Arnold Allen , Sean Carter , Fabio Ferrari , Danny Lawson , Paddy Pimblett and Saul Rogers . The deals will have the fighters competing exclusively for Cage Warriors for their next five fights. “I’m very happy with this latest batch of signings,” Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan stated. “They’re six guys with excellent records and their best years still ahead of them. Cage Warriors Fighting Championship has started to build its women’s divisions with the signing of 18 fighters. As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported earlier today , Cage Warriors plans to build deep divisions in the 105-, 115-, 125- and 135-pound weight classes. The promotion today announced the first 18 fighters it has signed to multi-fight contracts. Cage Warriors plans to make women’s fights a fixture on upcoming cards.

LAS VEGAS – The UFC’s annual year-end pay-per-view event will have at least one title fight. On Monday UFC President Dana White said the rematch between women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and challenger Miesha Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will be part of the card. Additional sources told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the event will take place Dec. 28, in Las Vegas, as UFC 168. “Ronda and Miesha is just – leading up to that fight, that’s going to be nasty,” White said. The two women currently serve are serving as head coaches on the 18th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series, which also tapes in Las Vegas and features both male and female bantamweights vying for UFC contracts.

Dana White says he can solve UFC fighter pay gripes – by eliminating bonuses

LAS VEGAS – The UFC is contemplating the elimination of fight-night and discretionary bonuses to fighters, the promotion’s president told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “You don’t like the structure? All right, we’ll pay the lower-level guys more money – no more f–king bonuses,” Dana White said. “You guys come in, you negotiate your contracts, and we do away with all bonuses. That’s what I’m thinking about doing.” White today said he and UFC co-owner and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta came up with the idea to redistribute wealth after several former and current UFC fighters publicly criticized the way the promotion pays its fighters. And if they follow through with it, they could find out very quickly if those currently under contract believe the current system is as bad as its often made to be. White said that for every UFC event that “kicks ass,” the promotion “makes sure that everybody gets a piece of the extra.” Now, the promotion could boost fighters’ base salaries across the board and take away rewards for those that perform. “The bonuses are something we’ve been doing out of the kindness of our f–king heart,” White said. “It was something we liked to do. Apparently, people don’t like it.

Bellator, not ONE FC, inks ex-UFC champ Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson

In one of its biggest talent acquisitions to date, Bellator MMA has signed former UFC light-heavyweight champion and PRIDE veteran Quinton Jackson . Sources close to the fighter confirmed the deal with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). Brazilian site NewsMMA.com.br first reported the signing. A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday in Los Angeles, and “Rampage” will be in attendance. Contracts details are expected to be unveiled then.
