After an incredible run of 10 consecutive finishes to start the card, the night ended in bizarre fashion with Jan Blachowicz (29-9-1 MMA, 12-6-1 UFC) and Magomed Ankalaev (18-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC) failing to determine a new UFC light heavyweight champion. The pair fought to a split draw in the vacant title headliner, which is a rarity in UFC history.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy. Edmen Shahbazyan displayed a much more patient version of himself at UFC 282 . Shahbazyan (12-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) finished Dalcha Lungiambula (11-6 MMA, 2-5 UFC) by TKO at the 4:41 mark of Round 2 in their middleweight bout at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The 25-year-old was able to evade Lungiambula’s explosive strikes and showed good takedown defense in Round 1 before blasting him with a knee and unleashing a barrage for the stoppage win in Round 2. UFC on ABC 3 proved to be one of the more entertaining cards of the year, with eight of the 12 scheduled bouts ending in a stoppage at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. The main event unfortunately featured an anticlimactic end, with Yair Rodriguez (14-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) getting the first-round TKO win , but only after Brian Ortega (15-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC) suffered a dislocated shoulder the forced the fight to be waved off. Punahele Soriano needed a win in the worst way at UFC on ABC 3 , and he got the job done in resounding fashion. After suffering back-to-back losses following an unbeaten start to his career, Soriano (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) returned to the win column Saturday with a second-round TKO of Dalcha Lungiambula (11-5 MMA, 2-4 UFC) in their middleweight bout on Long Island. Soriano was forced to stay away from Lungiambula’s dangerous strikes in the first round.
