A matchup between rising bantamweights has been added to UFC on ESPN 66. Da’Mon Blackshear (16-7-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) takes on Alatengheili (17-9-2 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) April 26 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the matchup but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Blackshear will make a very quick turnaround after competing less than three weeks ago

Cody Gibson started strong at UFC Fight Night 254 , but his pace couldn’t sustain and he eventually succumbed to Da’Mon Blackshear . Blackshear (16-7-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) put on another solid octagon performance Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas when he survived an early striking storm from Gibson (21-11 MMA, 3-6 UFC) in the bantamweight bout before getting the fight to the mat and getting the tap with a kimura submission at the 4:09 mark of Round 2. Da’Mon Blackshear flexed his submission skills again in a first-round finish at UFC Fight Night 247 . Blackshear (15-7-1 MMA, 3-3-1 UFC) entered the preliminary bantamweight contest against Cody Stamann in need of a big win, as he lost his previous two fights. At 4:19 of Round 1, “Da Monster” secured a rear-naked choke submission of Stamann (21-8-1 MMA, 7-7-1 UFC). After a furious combination of punches sparked by an accurate flying knee to the chin, a rocked Stamann attempted to grab a hold of Blackshear. He was unsuccessful though, as Blackshear sprawled, scrambled, and began working for submission finishes on the ground. He found Stamann’s back and locked in a rear-naked choke to get the tap in the final minute of the opening round
