Although there were some historic feats on the undercards, the most meaningful result came from the main event. Featherweight contender Lerone Murphy (16-0-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC) kept his undefeated record in tact when he outpointed Josh Emmett (19-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) by unanimous decision . LAS VEGAS – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 65 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $161,000. The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy. UFC on ESPN 65 took place at the UFC Apex.

The welterweight from Northern Ireland put on a striking clinic against Daniel Frunza (9-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) in their preliminary card bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Daniel Frunza booked for UFC debut vs. Rhys McKee

After an impressive showing on Dana White’s Contender Series, Daniel Frunza has the opportunity to continue his momentum in the UFC. At a UFC Fight Night event April 5 expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Frunza (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will battle former Cage Warriors champion Rhys McKee (13-6-1 MMA, 0-4 UFC). Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Eurosport NL first reported the welterweight fight Sunday. Frunza entered his DWCS opportunity in September an underdog but wore down and then thrashed opponent Vadim Kutsyi en route to a second-round TKO stoppage. The win was his fifth in a row.

Dana White’s Contender Series features up and coming prospects and gives them the opportunity to earn a UFC contract. On Tuesday, the seventh week of the promotion’s eighth season took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Tuesday’s fight card featured five fights. Headlining was a heavyweight match between Danylo Voievodkin and Bailey Schoenfelder. Voievodkin remained undefeated with the upset win over the Bellator veteran. Following the event, UFC CEO Dana White presented UFC contracts to all five winners: Alexia Thainara, Kevin Vallejos, Kevin Christian, Daniel Frunza and Danylo Voievodkin.
