Eleven finishes in as many pro victories, Kamuela Kirk kept his streak alive in the LFA 107 main event. In his first LFA headliner, Kirk (11-4) defeated fellow Dana White’s Contender Series alumnus Daniel Swain via TKO due to retirement in between Round 2 and 3. Swain (20-11-1), who had lost in between rounds on DWCS in 2020, uttered the words “I’m retired” to his corner, which indicated to the LFA commentary team that Swain’s fight Friday would be his last. Swain took off his gloves for the decision but was not interviewed post-fight and thus did not provide clarity on the situation

LAS VEGAS – Dana White’s Contender Series returned Tuesday with five fights on ESPN+ from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas – and all five walked away with UFC contracts. In the featured fight of the night, middleweight Dustin Stoltzfus (13-1) picked up a victory over Joe Pyfer (7-2) in odd fashion. Pyfer was the one walking forward in the early going, but Stoltzfus landed several hard low kicks as he retreated. Pyfer appeared the bigger man and was powerful with his hands when he let them go, but Stoltzfus was certainly doing some damage to the legs. The fight transitioned to the floor late in the frame, and Pyfer took top position, posturing and looking to strike.

RFA 24 heads to Minnesota with welterweight title on line, plus Curran-Blumer

RFA is headed back to Minnesota in March, and its welterweight title will be on the line. RFA 24 is set for March 6 at Mystic Lake Casino & Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn., the promotion recently announced. In the main event, Indalecio “Tat” Romero (24-5) meets Benjamin Smith (11-2) for the 170-pound strap. In addition, Melvin Blumer (11-2) takes on UFC/WEC/Strikeforce/Bellator/PRIDE veteran Jeff Curran (36-16-1) in a bantamweight co-main event, and Blumer’s brother, Marvin Blumer (11-4) meets Jarred Mercado (12-2). Josh Copeland gave his home fans a good show on Friday, staying unbeaten and winning the RFA heavyweight title in the process. Copeland stopped Jan Jorgensen with 11 seconds left in the first round in the main event of RFA 16, which took place at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo., just outside Denver. Copeland and Jorgensen came out swinging right away, with Copeland getting the better of the exchanges

Deivison Ribeiro (25-9) and Farkhad Sharipov (14-6) needed all 25 minutes of their featherweight championship fight to determine who would leave with the belt, and in the end it was Ribeiro who walked away with the gold by unanimous decision in the “XFC 27: Frozen Fury” main event. The headlining bout, which aired on AXS TV from inside the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Mich., was not the most thrilling matchup of the evening, but both men fought tactically and stuck to their game plans from beginning to end. As one would expect from a 145-pound fight, the match started fast and progressively slowed down as the action wore on.
