Justin Gaethje and Brian Foster WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje (16-0) is still perfect through 16 professional contests, defending his belt for the fourth consecutive time with a first-round finish of Brian Foster (25-9). The contest served as the headlining bout of Saturday’s WSOF 29 event, which took place at Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley, Colo. The main card aired on NBCSN. It was Foster who was the aggressor at the bell, coming out with punches and kicks in the face of an always aggressive opponent. Gaethje covered well and returned fire, and a few chopping low kicks started to take their toll on Foster, who began to visibly struggle remaining upright. Gaethje saw the opportunity and continued to assault the left leg, and Foster collapsed on the floor

Josh Copeland gave his home fans a good show on Friday, staying unbeaten and winning the RFA heavyweight title in the process. Copeland stopped Jan Jorgensen with 11 seconds left in the first round in the main event of RFA 16, which took place at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo., just outside Denver. Copeland and Jorgensen came out swinging right away, with Copeland getting the better of the exchanges

Friday’s RFA 16 event, which features a heavyweight headliner that will likely put the winner on the UFC’s radar, has a new co-headliner and a finalized lineup. RFA takes place at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., and the main card airs on AXS TV. As previously announced, undefeated heavyweight prospects Josh Copeland (8-0) and Jan Jorgensen (7-0) meet in the main event, and the victor will be awarded RFA’s vacant heavyweight title.
