Danny Sabatello has goals in Japan with Rizin FF that ‘money can’t buy’

Danny Sabatello thinks Japan will be “in for a ride” as he takes his talents to Rizin FF. Former interim Bellator title challenger and PFL veteran Sabatello (14-4-1) recently signed a three-fight contract with the Japan-based organization, and said his debut date and opponent are already locked in, with expectations for an announcement sooner than later. After some difficulties securing consistent fights since PFL’s acquisition of Bellator in late 2023, Sabatello said he relished the chance to move to Rizin FF, which he praises for its communication and structure throughout the negotiation process. Sabatello, 31, said he prides himself on being a polarizing character in MMA. He thinks his brash personality is going to be a hit overseas, and he is embracing leaning into the entertainment side of the sport as he enters the next chapter of his career

Former Bellator title challenger Danny Sabatello signs with Rizin FF

Danny Sabatello is taking his talents and colorful personality to Japan. The former Bellator interim title challenger Sabatello (14-4-1) is no longer under contract with PFL and has signed a multi-fight contract with Rizin FF. Sabatello’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz of Dominance MMA, informed MMA Junkie of Sabatello’s signing on Thursday.

CHICAGO – Danny Sabatello was born in Chicago and grew up on the North Side of the city. But Wednesday, he found himself in position to have to defend his origin story when his bitter rival Raufeon Stots said he didn’t grow up in the kind of rough-and-tumble streets of Chicago that would make his “Italian Gangster” name appropriate. Instead, Stots said he’s from the suburbs, dresses too “metrosexual” to be tough, and generally is too pretty. Sabatello thinks Stots, who beat him by split decision 11 months ago to win the interim bantamweight title, which he lost to Patchy Mix in April when Mix won the $1 million grand prix, is worried about what changes he’ll have made this time around to show his home fans. “I don’t feel pressure at all,” Sabatello told MMA Junkie and other media members at the pre-fight media day for Bellator 301 .
