Bellator returned from a six-week hiatus on Saturday with Bellator 285 , which went down at 3Arena in Dublin and featured a 13-fight lineup on the card. The main event featured a dominant performance from former UFC and WEC lightweight champion Benson Henderson (30-11 MMA, 7-6 BMMA), who shut down Ireland’s Peter Queally (13-7 MMA, 2-3 BMMA) over the course of five rounds to win a unanimous decision and begin his late-career push toward the title.

Bellator is back in Dublin with a card featuring a handful of notable names including a former UFC lightweight champion and fan favorite “The Soldier of God.” Benson Henderson headlines Bellator 285 against Peter Queally , right after Yoel Romero battles Melvin Manhoef in the co-main event. Thursday, fighters hit the scales at the host hotel ahead of Friday’s event at 3Arena. The event’s main card airs on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie. The official weigh-ins saw all 26 fighters make weight. One fighter, Dayana Silva , needed a to weigh in twice for her main card bout vs.

After disappointment last time, Leah McCourt will try to pick herself back up in front of her hometown fans. McCourt has been booked to fight Dayana Silva in a women’s featherweight bout Sept. 23 at Bellator 285 from 3Arena in Dublin. Bellator officials announced the booking Monday following an initial report by SevereMMA . McCourt, 29, seemingly was one win away from a title shot heading into her most recent bout with fellow-Irish fighter Sinead Kavanagh, but McCourt (6-2 MMA, 5-1 BMMA) came up short by dropping a unanimous decision . The loss snapped a six-fight winning streak

HONOLULU – MMA Junkie was on scene and reported from Friday’s official Bellator 279 fighter weigh-ins. The weigh-ins took place at the Bellator host hotel in San Jose, Calif. The nearby Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu hosts Saturday’s event, which has a main card on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie. It is the second of back-to-back shows in Honolulu. Among those who weighed in were women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg (25-2 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) and Arlene Blencowe (15-8 MMA, 8-4 BMMA), who meet in the main event rematch, and Juan Archuleta (25-3 MMA, 7-2 BMMA) and Raufeon Stots (17-1 MMA, 5-0 BMMA), who fight for the interim bantamweight title
