Unfortunately, the loss came after he suffered a broken leg. Things went from bad to worse when Ribeiro (26-10) was stuck with a $60,000 medical bill. Titan FC 39 results: Gesias Cavalcante crushes Pat Healy in first round to win lightweight title

Gesias Cavalcante told MMAjunkie he didn’t believe, he knew he would become Titan FC lightweight champion. It took just over two minutes for him to make it happen. Cavalcante (20-8-1) faced off with Pat Healy (33-22) for the vacant belt and finished the fight with a cracking right hand and perfunctory follow-up shots on the ground at the 2:07 mark of Round 1. The event took place at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. The entire event streamed on UFC Fight Pass. Deivison Ribeiro (25-9) and Farkhad Sharipov (14-6) needed all 25 minutes of their featherweight championship fight to determine who would leave with the belt, and in the end it was Ribeiro who walked away with the gold by unanimous decision in the “XFC 27: Frozen Fury” main event. The headlining bout, which aired on AXS TV from inside the L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Mich., was not the most thrilling matchup of the evening, but both men fought tactically and stuck to their game plans from beginning to end. As one would expect from a 145-pound fight, the match started fast and progressively slowed down as the action wore on.
