Massachusetts fighter Devin Carrier , 21, died over the weekend in a single-car crash, less than one week before he was scheduled to compete at Friday’s CES MMA 37 event at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I. The accident was first reported by South Coast Today . “Everyone is very shaken up,” CES MMA rep Ed Kapp stated in an email to MMAjunkie. “He was just 21 years old and was a joy to work with.” CES MMA 37’s main card airs on AXS TV. Carrier (1-1) was expected to face Connor Barry (1-0), who will not get a new opponent for the card, on the evening’s unaired preliminary card. Carrier made his professional debut in November 2015 with a decision loss to Sean Nichols under the Cage Titans FC

Lineup set for CES MMA 36 with Felix-Sanders lightweight title rematch in Rhode Island

Luis Felix The card has been filled for next month’s CES MMA 36 event, which features the lightweight title on the line in Rhode Island. In the main event, lightweight champion Luis Felix (14-9) meets challenger Ryan Sanders (10-7) in a rematch from earlier this year at CES MMA 32. At that event, Sanders submitted Felix – but the fight was at a catchweight, and the title was not on the line for Sanders. CES MMA 36 takes place June 10 at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, R.I. The main card will air on AXS TV. Felix, who fights for the 12th time under the CES MMA banner, is a Rhode Island native who had won three straight fights before the non-title loss to Sanders

Andres Jeudi CES MMA will makes it Massachusetts debut on April 16, officials recently announced. CES MMA 35 takes place at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Mass., and the main card airs on AXS TV. The featherweight headliner features Pedro Gonzalez (10-5) vs. Andres Jeudi , two local products. Gonzalez is riding a three-fight winning streak with three submission victories, including ones over Josh Lange and onetime Strikeforce fighter Billy Vaughan. In fact, he has nine submissions in 10 career wins
