Upon reading the article, Legacy President Mick Maynard contacted MMAWeekly.com wanting to refute Robichaux’s claims and clear up any doubt that the promotion was indeed trying to give Robichaux what he wanted. “Honestly when we read it – and I say ‘we’ because several people called me about it – firstly, it didn’t mention us, which is fine, but secondly, we offered Chad a huge long list of people who want to fight him,” said Maynard. “We have no shortage of 125ers, 135ers and people who’d meet him in between if he wants it. So when I read that article it bugged me because it gave the implication that we didn’t have enough high-level people and that everybody was scared to fight him

Edgar has been in seven consecutive five-round title fights. Six went all 25 minutes, and a seventh went deep into the fourth round. Edgar, though, isn’t alone with that type of long-distance distinction. Welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre is known for going five rounds, too, and has done so in seven of his last eight bouts. But there tends to be little doubt after St-Pierre’s fights as to whose hand will be raised.

But come fight night, Fabricio Werdum thinks fellow heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will be the clear crowd favorite. “For sure, the fans will be divided since we’re both Brazilian, though without a doubt, ‘Minotauro’ has many more fans in Brazil due to his storied career,” Werdum told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “He started well before me and had many excellent victories while representing Brazil.” Werdum, who headlines Saturday’s FUEL TV-televised event at Paulo Sarasate Arena in the city of Fortaleza, specifically points to Nogueira’s time in PRIDE.
