Filed under: News , UFC Onetime UFC flyweight title challenger Henry Cejudo may have suffered a broken left hand against two-time challenger Joseph Benavidez and could be out six months unless cleared by a doctor. MMAjunkie today requested and received a list of medical suspensions arising from The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale, which took place this past Saturday at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and aired on FS1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass. Benavidez (25-4 MMA, 12-2 UFC) beat Cejudo (10-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC), his rival and opposing coach on “TUF 24,” via split decision to stay in the hunt for another shot at champ Demetrious Johnson (25-2-1 MMA, 13-1-1 UFC), who outpointed Tim Elliott (13-7-1 MMA, 2-5 UFC) in the event’s headliner to defend his belt a ninth time . Elliott was given a monthlong suspension for his gutsy effort against the champ, avoiding a more serious term like the one given to Cejudo and welterweight Jake Ellenberger (31-12 MMA, 10-8 UFC), who got his foot caught between the cage and canvas against Jorge Masvidal (31-11 MMA, 8-4 UFC) and now needs doctor clearance to avoid a six-month term. After a rough first round, Smith (26-12 MMA, 2-2 UFC) battered Mutapcic (15-5-1 MMA, 0-2-1 UFC) with punches and kicks before sealing the deal with an in-close weapon in the second round. The middleweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s TUF 24 Finale event at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. UFC 199 takes place June 4 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., just outside Los Angeles. Six fighters from this past month’s UFC Fight Night 81 event are facing medical suspensions that could stretch six months. MMAjunkie today obtained the list of medical suspensions from the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission after filing a public-records request shortly after the event.
