Friday’s ONE Championship 130 event was dubbed “Fists of Fury II.” They didn’t say anything about elbows. They probably would’ve had they known Mark Abelardo would do what he did. Abelardo delivered an absolutely scintillating knockout of Emilio Urrutia in their featherweight bout at Singapore Indoor Stadium. With both men closing in to strike simultaneously, Abelardo obliterated Urrutia by landing a vicious right elbow flush on his chin. From the looks of it, I’d initially thought Abelardo somehow got away with landing a 12-6 elbow from standing position, but upon review – and with an assist from MMA Junkie’s Nolan King – that was more like a 2-7 or 2-8.

Joshua Pacio defends strawweight title vs. Rene Catalan in ONE Championship 102 main event

ONE Championship will return to the Philippines in November and a title will be on the line. Men’s strawweight champion Joshua Pacio (17-3) will put his belt up for grabs against challenger and fellow Filipino Rene Catalan (6-2) in the “ONE Championship: Masters of Fate” main event, the promotion announced Tuesday. In the co-feature, former lightweight champion Eduard Folayang (21-8) takes on Tsogookhuu Amarsanaa (5-1) at welterweight. ONE Championship 102 takes place Nov. 8 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila and streams on B/R Live and ONE’s app. It’s been an interesting year for Pacio.

The full 12-bout lineup for this month’s ONE Championship 82 event has been set, and it includes nine MMA contests. Promotion officials today laid out the full card for “ONE Championship 82: Pursuit of Greatness,” which takes place Oct. 26 at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. Like all ONE Championship event, the main card streams live and free on the ONE Championship app following a preliminary card that streams on Facebook and Twitter. The previously announced main event sees middleweight champ Aung La N Sang (23-10) put his title on the line against undefeated challenger Mohammad Karaki (9-0)

ONE Championship 77’s headliner was a tough one to call heading into its final round, but when the time came to pull trigger, Zebaztian Kadestam did so in beautifully violent fashion. After stuffing takedowns and eating some of Agilan Thani ’s (8-2) best offense in the welterweight bout at at Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kadestam (10-4) was a man possessed coming into the third round. Punches, knees, and elbows made for a pick-your-poison-type ending as the ref, mercifully, stepped in at the 1:56 mark of the round (via Twitter ): Cold blooded finish by Zebaztian Kadestam against Agilan Thani. Kevin Belingon showed no regard for the state of Andrew Leone ’s liver en route to a second-round TKO victory in today’s bantamweight main event at “ONE Championship 71: Heroes Of Honor.” Belingon (18-5) put on perhaps the best performance of his career against Leone (8-4) in the event headliner, which took place at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, and streamed online. After some competitive action in the opening frame, Belingon turned up the heat in the second. He timed a perfect turning back kick which connected hard on the liver of Leone and sent him crashing backward to the canvas. That’s when Belingon’s killer instinct kicked in. Belingon rushed his downed opponent and unleashed a relentless flurry of strikes. He mixed in punches and elbows, but it was a series of grounded knee strikes that finally forced the referee to step in and wave the bout off at the 2:17 mark of Round 2, giving Belingon his fifth consecutive win in ONE Championship competition
