Twenty fighters competed this past Friday at Bellator 292 with the titleholders leading all disclosed payouts. California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) executive director Andy Foster released a full list of fighter payouts Thursday to MMA Junkie. The amounts reflect the disclosed payouts only and do not include any off-contract bonuses, sponsor payments or discretionary bonuses. Blaisdell Center with the main card airing on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie. The event is the first half of a two-night doubleheader for the promotion at the same arena. The veteran fighter is determined to make a title run under the Bellator banner in hopes of one day capturing the promotion’s 135-pound title. Perez (19-8 MMA, 0-2 BMMA) joined the promotion in 2019 on a five-fight winning steak with victories with Combate Global and the UFC. Although he entered Bellator with good momentum, “Goyito” has been unable to get his hand raised in the two bouts he’s competed in for the promotion. Now returning on Friday at Bellator 258 in Uncasville, Conn., Perez is out to get back on his wining ways and kick off a campaign for the title. “I feel at the best moment, physically and mentally,” Perez told MMA Junkie in his native Spanish .

Erik Perez sees the path to gold in Bellator’s bantamweight division. The Mexican fighter likes the current state of his weight class, as a new champion is soon to be crowned, and apart from Sergio Pettis, there doesn’t seem to be a long queue of clear contenders. Perez (19-7 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) fights Friday at Bellator 244 in Uncasville, Conn. He takes on fellow veteran Josh Hill. Although he’s coming off a defeat, “Goyito” believes he can place himself in good position at 135 pounds with an impressive showing. “I like how it is, and if I have a good performance I don’t think it will get me to fight for the title because that’s already going to be disputed, but I do feel like the division is very open,” Perez explained in Spanish on MMA Junkie’s “Hablemos MMA” podcast.
