Ladies and gentleman, here’s the nude photo of UFC fighter Miesha Tate that will appear in ESPN The Magazine’s “The Body Issue.” The photo, taken by Ben Watts and first released to nydailynews.com , appears in Friday’s new edition of the magazine. Tate is one of 21 athletes who appears in various states of undress for the annual “Body” edition. Tate, a former Strikeforce champion, recently made her UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale and suffered a loss to Cat Zingano , who mounted a third-round comeback to get the TKO victory. Zingano then earned the right to coach opposite Rousey on “The Ultimate Fighter 18,” but due to a knee injury, Tate recently replaced her. LAS VEGAS – UFC women’s bantamweight contender Miesha Tate soon will become the latest fighter to appear nude in ESPN the Magazine’s “Body Issue.” While the publication strives for artful shots done in a tasteful fashion, Tate admits her participation wasn’t a decision she took lightly. “I’m not going to lie, I was a little nervous when they first approached me,” Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) told USA TODAY Sports. “It really took some quality group decision-making for me to do it. But now that I did it, it was an awesome experience, and I’m definitely very honored to be a part of this issue.” Tate is in Las Vegas filming Season 18 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” in which she serves as a team coach opposite her rival, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey .

With ‘Body Issue’ news, Miesha Tate laughs off hypocrisy talk, stands by claims

One year after chastising UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) for a decision she feels was hypocritical, Miesha Tate (13-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is standing by her words. If you think that makes her a hypocrite, as well, Tate recommends you review her original claims. “I never said it was hypocritical for Ronda to pose nude for ‘The Body Issue,’” Tate said. “I said it was hypocritical for her to talk crap about the octagon girls posing nude in Playboy and then go pose nude for ESPN. That was my only qualm. “I feel like people will hear what they want to hear, but honestly, I had no issue with her being in ‘The Body Issue.’ I thought it was a great issue. I thought the photos were very nice and tastefully done, as ESPN always strives for.” Rousey, of course, was featured in the 2012 edition of the annual ESPN the Magazine special edition several months after criticizing UFC octagon girls such as Brittney Palmer and Arianny Celeste for appearing completely nude in Playboy. UFC Women’s Bantamweight Contender Miesha Tate to Appear in ESPN the Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’

UFC women’s bantamweight contender Miesha Tate will appear in ESPN the Magazine’s fifth annual “The Body Issue” set to hit newsstands on July 12. Tate joins 20 other athletes in this year’s edition, including Mets’ pitcher Matt Harvey, San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Dever Nuggets’ Kenneth Faried. Also baring it all are: Courtney Force, John Wall, Vernon Davis, John Isner, Sydney Leroux, Carly Booth, Joffrey Lupul, Elena Hight, Agnieszka Radwanska, Chris Sharma and Daila Ojeda, Marlen Esparza, Tarah Gieger and 77-year-old golf legend Gary Player. The issue, which first hit newsstands in October 2009, features athletes posing in nude or semi-nude photographs. MMA stars Ronda Rousey , Gina Carano and Jon Jones have previously posed for the publication with Rousey featured on last year’s cover. Tate and Rousey are currently filming “The Ultimate Fighter” season 18 in Las Vegas as opposing coaches. Champion Rousey was originally scheduled to coach opposite Cat Zingano , who defeated Tate in April to earn the coaching position and title shot, but was forced of the show with a knee injury. Tate replaced Zingano. Rousey defeated Tate to capture the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title in March 2012. After UFC champion Ronda Rousey was featured prominently in the fourth installment, her rival, Miesha Tate , will appear in the fifth edition of ESPN The Magazine’s “The Body Issue.” Tate, who’s currently coaching opposite Rousey on “The Ultimate Fighter 18,” is one of 21 athletes who will appear in various states of undress for the magazine, officials today announced. The issue hits newsstands on July 12. Tate, a former Strikeforce champion, recently made her UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale and suffered a loss to Cat Zingano , who mounted a third-round comeback to get the TKO victory.
