The fighting future of former two-time middleweight titleholder Israel Adesanya became more clear when his coach, Eugene Bareman revealed that “The Last Stylebender” plans to fight again. Adesanya has lost three fights in a row, albeit against the top fighters in the 185-pound division. But at 35, “The Last Stylebender” could have walked away with a Hall of Fame resume. Instead, he’s planning his next fight. “The one brief conversation that he had with me in the changing room at Volk’s, he said, ‘Look, man, I think I’m going to fight again.’ So like, you know, we’re talking about, those are the conversations we’re having. Like, ‘Yeah, I want to fight again. I want to fight again. I think I’m ready to fight again,’” Adesanya’s coach Eugene Bareman told Submission Radio . Adesanya was in attendance at UFC 314 and witnessed Alexander Volkanovksi regain the featherweight championship at age 36

If Israel Adesanya was to never fight again, Eugene Bareman is grateful for the journey they’ve had in the UFC. A former standout kickboxer, Adesanya (24-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) made waves upon entering the UFC in 2018. His interim middleweight title-winning performance over Kelvin Gastelum earned them a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame fight wing, and his knockout of Robert Whittaker to unify the belts at UFC 243 was one of the best of his career. Adesanya defended his middleweight title five times before losing it to rival Alex Pereira at UFC 281. However, he was able to avenge that loss and reclaim the belt when he knocked out Pereira in their rematch at UFC 287 .

Adesanya (24-3 MMA, 13-3 UFC) lost his UFC middleweight title in a shocking unanimous decision loss to Sean Strickland (28-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) Saturday night in the main event of UFC 293 . After the event, the Nigerian fighter stepped into the media room to announce that he wanted to be with his friends and family, and that Bareman would offer answers on his behalf. Hooker was stopped in the first round of his lightweight bout against former Bellator champion Chandler in the co-main event this past Saturday in Abu Dhabi. The defeat put Hooker on a two-fight skid, which includes a loss to Dustin Poirier last year
