UFC 179 fighters Phil Davis and Scott Jorgensen are facing potential six-month medical suspensions following this past weekend’s UFC 179 event. MMAjunkie today obtained the list of suspensions from the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission, which oversaw Saturday’s UFC 179 pay-per-view event at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. In the headliner, UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo successfully defended his title with a unanimous-decision victory over Chad Mendes .

The UFC traveled to Brazil for the fifth time this year with Saturday’s UFC 179 event at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanazinho Gymnasium. The headliner featured one of the best championship fights in recent memory as UFC featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) successfully defended his belt against top contender Chad Mendes (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) in a riveting back-and-forth affair. Aldo’s reign as UFC champion dates back to 2011, but no one has pushed him like Mendes did. Aldo overcame the challenge, though, and “Scarface” added yet another win to his incredible resume.

Martin (9-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) took on jiu-jitsu black-belt Fabricio Camoes (14-9-1 MMA, 1-4-1 UFC) on his home turf, both geographically and stylistically, working diligently for a submission until the Brazilian was forced to tap. The catchweight bout (both lightweights missed weight) opened up the preliminary card of today’s UFC 179 event at Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and the main card on pay-per-view. The fight’s end came at the 4:16 mark of the first, when Camoes tapped to a kimura and referee Mario Yamasaki intervened

Magny (12-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has been booked for a welterweight bout against William Macario (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 179 next month. In addition, the card has added a lightweight fight between Fabricio Camoes (14-8-1 MMA, 1-3-1 UFC) and Josh Shockley (11-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

With Abel Trujillo (12-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC) forced to withdraw from next week’s UFC Fight Night 47 event, Gray Maynard (11-3-1 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) now faces Ross Pearson (15-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC). Maynard had been expected to face Fabricio Camoes (14-8-1 MMA, 1-3-1 UFC) at the event, but the Brazilian will instead be rebooked for an upcoming fight card. UFC officials today announced the change of plans. Trujillo suffered an undisclosed injury in training, and a timetable for his return wasn’t immediately evident.

The lineup for the postponed UFC 176 event has been just about completely rescheduled, as a lightweight matchup between Fabricio Camoes (14-8-1 MMA, 1-3-1 UFC) and Gray Maynard (11-3-1 MMA, 9-3-1 UFC) has been moved to UFC Fight Night 47. UFC officials on Wednesday announced the move. UFC Fight Night 47 takes place Aug. 16 at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. The bulk of the card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
