No one would blame you if you never found yourself lost in thought over the first time the UFC visited Indianapolis. But as the UFC returns to the very same building for tonight’s UFC Fight Night 27 event, it’s worth remembering that night in 2010, if only for its significance to Chris Lytle and Matt Serra.

Rony Jason vs. Jeremy Stephens targeted for unannounced UFC Fight Night 29 event

A featherweight matchup between Rony Jason (13-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) and Jeremy Stephens (21-9 MMA, 8-8 UFC) has been targeted for as as-yet-unannounced event expected to serve as UFC Fight Night 29. The bout is expected to take place on Oct. 9 in Brazil, at a city and venue to be determined. The night’s main card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1, but official plans have yet to be revealed. The Jason vs. Stephens contest was first reported by MMAWeekly.com, and Stephens also took to Facebook to confirm his participation. “Looks like my first trip to Brazil will be fighting in hostile territory on a UFC main card,” Stephens wrote

UFC on FUEL TV 10 draws 6,286 attendance in Brazil

FORTALEZA, Brazil – The UFC’s first trip to the Brazilian city of Fortaleza resulted in an attendance of 6,286. A live gate figure was not announced. The total was announced at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) attended. The event, UFC on FUEL TV 10, took place Saturday at Paulo Sarasate Arena in the state of Ceara.

Chael Sonnen reportedly replaces Nogueira, meets ‘Shogun’ Rua at UFC 161

In what will be just seven weeks since losing a light heavyweight title fight against Jon Jones , Chael Sonnen reportedly will return and save the co-main event spot at UFC 161. Sonnen (27-13-1 MMA, 6-6 UFC), according to a report from Globo , will step up to meet Mauricio Rua (21-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC) in the co-main event of the card later this month in Canada. “Shogun” was in need of an opponent once Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) dropped off the card with a back injury . UFC officials, however, could not yet confirm the report to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) early Monday afternoon. UFC 161 takes place June 15 at MTS Centre in Winnipeg. It will be the UFC’s first trip to the Canadian province of Manitoba. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook
