RIO DE JANEIRO – It took some time, but Ian McCall finally knows what it feels like to get a win in the UFC. “Uncle Creepy” used both his speed and his savvy to outpoint Iliarde Santos en route to a unanimous decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). The flyweight bout took place today at UFC 163 at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. It aired on FX ahead of the pay-per-view main card. Santos made clear early on that he had a big right and a willingness to use it, and throughout the three-round battle he did his best to find a home for it on McCall’s skull. But McCall was just too quick for his Brazilian opponent, bouncing in and out with crisp, effective combinations that ultimately won the day. McCall (12-4-1 MMA, 1-2-1 UFC) gets his first victory in four tries inside the octagon. Santos (27-8-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC) remains winless in the UFC, following up on a knockout loss in his debut with his decision defeat at the hands of McCall

Liz Carmouche at Home in the Octagon, Gunning for the Title (UFC on Fox 8 Video)

Liz Carmouche notched her first victory in the Octagon at UFC on Fox 8 on Saturday night in Seattle, finishing Jessica Andrade by way of TKO stoppage in the second round. Even though she lost her first UFC bout to current women’s champion Ronda Rousey , Carmouche says she’s always felt at home in the Octagon. Of course, she’s gunning for the belt and wants another shot at Rousey, but will take whatever the UFC throws her way. UFC on Fox 8 Results: Robbie Lawler’s Octagon Return Continues with Another Stunning Knockout

Heading into his UFC on Fox 8 welterweight bout with Bobby Voelker, UFC veteran and perennial fan favorite Robbie Lawler had 20 career victories. Of those 20 victories, 17 came by way of knockout. After Saturday night, you can make that 21, as Lawler dispatched Voelker, leveling the Kansas City native with a thudding head-kick knockout at the start of the second round. Round one saw both fighters open with a purpose. Lawler stalked his opponent with a cocked right hand, as the 34-year-old Voelker looked to earn his first victory inside the Octagon after failing in his debut against Patrick Cote at UFC 158. As Lawler pressured with a stiff jab, Voelker attempted to stymie the oncoming pressure of the former Miletich Fighting System product by using an array of leg kicks and lateral movement.
