There are a lot of firsts still to come as it relates to women fighting in the Octagon, but another milestone toppled when the UFC announced its first women’s match-up for one of its fight cards in England. French-born Brit Rosi Sexton will square off with Brazilian youngster Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night 30: Bisping vs. Munoz on Oct. 26 in Manchester, England.

Ronda Rousey signed with the William Morris Endeavor talent agency earlier this year, and now she has her first major movie role. The UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion has landed a role in the upcoming “Expendables 3″ action flick. Screenplay writer and star Sylvester Stallone announced the news late Tuesday on his official Twitter account. Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is coming off yet another first-round armbar victory. She stopped Liz Carmouche in February in the main event of UFC 157, the first women’s fight in UFC history. She currently is taping Season 18 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which she’ll coach opposite her fiercest rival, Miesha Tate . The two then will meet in a rematch for Rousey’s title at UFC 168 in December in Las Vegas. It is unknown when Rousey’s work on “Expendables 3″ will begin or how extensive a role she will have in the film, which also stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jackie Chan, Dolph Lundgren, Steven Seagal and former UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture – essentially a who’s who of Hollywood action stars.

There were a couple things people thought they knew for sure when Liz Carmouche faced Ronda Rousey in the UFC’s first women’s bout at UFC 157 in February. One was that Carmouche stood absolutely no chance against Rousey, who entered the fight as a 12-1 favorite over the little-known underdog from San Diego. The other was that no matter how the fight turned out, it was a historic event that would change both women’s lives forever. At least one of those predictions turned out to be true, in a way. These days Carmouche isn’t exactly a superstar.

A recently reported women’s bantamweight bout between recent title challenger Liz Carmouche and newcomer Jessica Andrade now is official for the UFC’s summer return to the Pacific Northwest. Carmouche (8-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will meet Andrade (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) on the main card of UFC on FOX 8, which takes July 27 at KeyArena in Seattle. The four-fight main card, including a flyweight title fight between champ Demetrious Johnson and top contender John Moraga , airs on FOX following prelims on FX and Facebook. UFC officials on Monday announced the fight, which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) reported on over the weekend . Carmouche in February made her UFC debut in a women’s bantamweight title fight against champion Ronda Rousey . The two headlined the UFC 157 pay-per-view in Anaheim, Calif., and went into the record books as the first women’s fight in UFC history. Although Carmouche had Rousey in trouble with a first-round neck crank, Rousey escaped, got the fight to the ground and deep in the first round latched onto her signature armbar to get the submission victory. Liz Carmouche Draws Octagon Newcomer Jessica Andrade at UFC on Fox 8

Liz Carmouche has already been part of a lot of firsts in UFC history, and she’s only one fight into her tenure with the promotion. She was in the first women’s title fight, the first women’s bout to headline a pay-per-view, and the first women’s bout to take place in the Octagon. Now that she’s fought current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey , she’s moving on to become one of the first two women to fight on Fox. Carmouche was originally slated to face Miesha Tate at UFC on Fox 8 on July 27 in Seattle, but Tate was called on to coach opposite Rousey on TUF 18 when Cat Zingano had to withdraw from the job due to a severe knee injury. Carmouche will now face promotional newcomer Jessica Andrade at UFC on Fox 8. The new bout was first reported by MMAFighting.com . She (8-3) may have failed in her bid to wrest the belt from Rousey, but Carmouche came as close as anyone ever has to derailing the Rousey train. She eventually succumbed to the same submission as the rest of the UFC women’s bantamweight champion’s opponents, but she’ll get the opportunity to redeem herself in Seattle.
