British featherweight Andy Ogle (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has been forced to with draw from a planned meeting with Conor McGregor (13-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC on FOX Sports 1 1, and Max Holloway (7-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has taken his place. UFC officials today announced the change. UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston and will be the UFC’s debut on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network. The evening’s main card airs on the new channel, as do several preliminary bouts, including Holloway vs. McGregor. Additional preliminary contests stream on Facebook. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Holloway looks to bounce back from a hard-fought split-decision loss to Dennis Bermudez at May’s UFC 160 event

UFC Fight for the Troops 3 event targeted for Nov. 6

LAS VEGAS – The third installment of the UFC Fight for the Troops event series is targeted for Nov. 6. UFC President Dana White announced the plans during a Q&A session at Friday’s UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas. However, a host site and potential bouts were not disclosed. The Wednesday event, though, is expected to air on FOX Sports 1, the new cable home for UFC events, following prelims on Facebook. To date the UFC has hosted two Fight for the Troops events

Mike Pyle replaces Thiago Alves vs. Matt Brown at UFC on FOX Sports 1 1

Thiago Alves ‘ road back to the octagon will wait once again. Alves (19-9 MMA, 11-6 UFC) has been forced out of his welterweight bout against Matt Brown (17-11 MMA, 10-5 UFC) at UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 in August, and Mike Pyle (25-8-1 MMA, 8-3 UFC) will step in as his replacement. The UFC announced the change on Wednesday. The fight is expected to be part of the six-fight main card. UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston and will be the UFC’s debut on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network. Pyle has won four straight fights following a TKO loss to Rory MacDonald in August 2011. He started his current run with three straight knockouts, including a first-round “Knockout of the Night” stoppage of Josh Neer 13 months ago.

Akira Corassani off UFC on FOX Sports 1 1 card, Steven Siler meets Mike Brown

Another change has hit the preliminary card of the UFC’s August return to Boston. Akira Corassani (11-3-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has been forced out of his featherweight bout against former WEC champion Mike Brown (26-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC), and stepping in for him will be another Season 14 “Ultimate Fighter” alum in Steven Siler (22-10 MMA, 4-1 UFC). UFC officials recently announced the fight switch for UFC on FOX Sports 1 1, which takes place Aug. 17 at TD Garden in Boston. The show will be the UFC’s first on the new FOX Sports 1 cable network, which will launch the same day. Siler got back in the win column in April with a unanimous decision win over Kurt Holobaugh at UFC 159 in Newark, N.J. After appearing on Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Siler won his official UFC debut with a unanimous decision win over Josh Clopton at the TUF 14 Finale

UFC on FOX Sports 1 3 official for Brazil with Bader-Teixeira, Okami-Souza

The UFC’s third event in less than a three-week span on the new FOX Sports 1 cable channel is official for Brazil. UFC on FOX Sports 1 3 will take place in Belo Horizonte with a main event between light heavyweights Ryan Bader (15-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Glover Teixeira (21-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC). The co-main event will feature middleweights Yushin Okami (29-7 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and Ronaldo Souza (18-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC). Also official for the show is a flyweight bout between Joseph Benavidez (18-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Jussier Formiga (15-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC). UFC officials made the card’s location and top-billed fights official overnight.
