The UFC is back on U.S. soil this week, and it’s not another event at the UFC Apex. The promotion heads to San Antonio for UFC on ESPN 43 for a key bantamweight bout between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen . Elsewhere, many other MMA events are taking place that feature familiar names that have competed under the UFC banner. These nine veterans of the global MMA leader are competing in MMA bareknuckle boxing this week from March 24-26. Check out the names and details about their bouts below.

Ex-UFC fighter Francisco Rivera is back. Following the conclusion of a four-year USADA suspension and subsequent COVID-19-induced delays, Rivera (11-7) has booked his return fight for XMMA. The event takes place Jan. 30 at Palm Beach Convention Center in Palm Beach, Fla., and will stream live on the promotion’s website . With USADA suspension nearing completion, Francisco Rivera eyes final UFC run

Francisco Rivera ’s USADA suspension is up in July, and he hopes he’s able to return to his original home. Rivera (11-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) tested positive for banned substance clenbuterol during an out-of-competition urine sample collected on July 23, 2016, and was subsequently handed a four-year suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). He has not competed since, and was recently given a license to compete anywhere in California, leading to a scheduled bout on March 20 for the promotion LXF, but the coronavirus outbreak forced the event to be canceled. Now, with his USADA suspension set to be completed in three months’ time, “Cisco” said he’d love nothing more than a final chance to prove his worth inside the UFC octagon. “I know I can still put on great shows,” Rivera told MMA Junkie.

Former UFC bantamweight Francisco Rivera is the second fighter since the UFC formed its relationship with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) to get a four-year suspension. USADA today announced the news after Rivera’s (11-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) case and subsequent suspension were reviewed by an independent arbitrator. Rivera tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol during an out-of-competition urine sample collected on July 23, 2016. UFC bantamweight slugger Francisco Rivera has been notified of a potential UFC anti-doping policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on July 23. UFC officials today announced the finding after being informed of the result by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. “USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case,” the statement read. “It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.” First violations under the UFC anti-doping policy typically carry a standard sanction of two years, though Rivera (11-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) can first contest the finding.
