ONE FC announces three events with Moraes-Mikami, Askren-Santos title fights

Adriano Moraes ONE FC has laid out its early-2015 schedule, which includes a pair of title fights. All of the events stream as online pay-per-views in North America. “ONE FC 25: Age of Champions” kicks off the year on March 13 at Stadium Putra in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the ONE FC 25 headliner, flyweight champion Adriano Moraes (12-1), who won the title in September with a submission victory over Geje Eustaquio, makes his first title defense when he fights Japanese vet and promotional newcomer Asuka Mikami (11-2-2), who’s undefeated (10-0-2) over his past 12 fights. Lightweight Peter Davis (9-3) and women’s strawweight Ann Osman (2-1) are also expected to be part of the ONE FC 25 card, though opponents haven’t been finalized. Additionally, as previously reported , “ONE FC 26: Valor of Champions” takes place April 24 at Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

Former UFC champion Jens Pulver (27-19-1) will return from a 15-month layoff to fight undefeated Indonesian bantamweight Fransino Tirta (16-0-1), ONE FC officials recently announced. The bout is part of “ONE FC 26: Odyssey of Champions.” The event, which streams in North America as an online pay-per-view, takes place Feb. 14 at Istora Senayan in the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex in Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently, it’s the only fight announced for the card. Although Pulver has announced his retirement on a few occasions, he again returns to the cage with ONE FC, where he’s fought three times since 2012. However, the 40-year-old, who held the UFC lightweight title from 2011-2012 and unsuccessfully challenged for the WEC featherweight belt in 2008, has lost his past two bouts and three of his past four

Asia’s largest MMA promotion will return to Indonesia on June 14 for “ONE FC 17: Era of Champions,” which features a flyweight headliner between Adriano Moraes (10-1) and Kosuke Suzuki (10-3-2). ONE FC officials recently announced the plans to return to Jakarta for a third time. However, the event will mark the first time the promotion has visited Mata Elang International Stadium, a 15,000-seat venue that opened in 2012. “Our Indonesian fans have been eagerly awaiting our return to Jakarta, and we are excited to be able to bring world-class MMA back to the capital city of Indonesia,” ONE FC CEO Victor Cui stated. “Fans in Jakarta and all over the world can look forward to an unforgettable night of explosive knockouts and exciting finishes.” ONE FC officials also announced the ONE FC 17 co-feature will see Egyptian Sami Amin (4-1) face Indonesia’s Fransino Tirta (15-0-1). “Black Diamond” Moraes is a talented 25-year-old Brazilian prospect.
