After nearly 13 years as a professional fighter, Seth Petruzelli will step away from the cage. The 33-year-old Petruzelli (14-8 MMA, 1-2 BFC) made the announcement Friday morning on his Facebook page. His announcement comes following a knockout loss to Muhammed Lawal on Wednesday night at Bellator 96. “The Silverback” goes out on a two-fight skid, with both losses coming in the first round as part of Bellator’s most recent two light heavyweight tournaments. BREAKING: Ronny Markes vs. Derek Brunson UFC on Fuel TV 10 Fight Cancelled

A UFC on Fuel TV 10 middleweight bout between Ronny Markes and Derek Brunson has been cancelled. UFC officials on Friday confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com , which was first reported by MMAJunkie.com . Markes was reportedly involved in a car accident on Friday morning. He was not seriously injured, but was deemed unable to compete at Saturday’s event in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. Despite the cancellation, Markes and Brunson will both be paid their guaranteed show money for the fight, according to UFC president Dana White . The bout was scheduled to be one of the feature fights on the Facebook streaming portion of UFC on Fuel TV 10. The fight card will now stand at 12 bouts instead of the initial 13. UFC on Fuel TV 10 features a heavyweight rematch between TUF Brazil 2 coaches Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum, and also serves as the reality series’ finale.

Derek Brunson vs. Ronny Markes pulled from UFC on FUEL TV 10 lineup

FORTALEZA, Brazil – A last-minute issue has forced the cancellation of a planned UFC on FUEL TV 10 matchup between Derek Brunson (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Ronny Markes (14-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC). MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with sources close to the fighter that Markes was today ruled out of the matchup. Additional sources said the the 25-year-old Brazilian was on Friday morning involved in an automobile accident. While Markes is said to not have been seriously injured, the incident will prevent the fighter from competing. According to Tatame.com’s Guilherme Cruz , Markes was a passenger in the vehicle and hurt his “neck, head and ribs” when a car driven by manager and trainer Andre Pederneiras was involved in the crash.
