In addition to some high-profile MLB players, the Florida-based Biogenesis clinic also supplied performance-enhancing drugs to MMA fighters, a whistleblower reportedly claims. According to ESPN's " Outside the Lines ," Biogenesis employee-turned-whistleblower Porter Fischer said the client list stretches beyond MLB and includes "athletes from the NBA, NCAA, professional boxing, tennis and MMA, in addition to other professional baseball players who have not yet been identified." He hasn't yet identified the athletes. After backpay issues with clinic founder Tony Bosch, Fischer turned over documents to the Miami New Times in 2012. It ultimately led to an MLB investigation and the recent suspension of Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun, the 2011 National League MVP. However, his intention to spark a federal investigation of Biogenesis and Bosch never came to fruition.

Cung Le really wanted a fight with Michael Bisping , but with the potential bout now a no-go, the UFC middleweight is hoping to focus his efforts on China. More specifically, he's hoping a potential coaching gig on "The Ultimate Fighter: China," which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) recently reported as likely, comes to fruition. Le, a longtime Sanshou kickboxer, believes a footprint in the country could be massive for the UFC. "I'm here to help out any way I can with UFC in China," Le recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio. "I think it's a huge market, and once they break into there, it's truly going to be global." "TUF: China" debuts in November, and a live finale is targeted for March in Macau. Producers are searching for UFC hopefuls from the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions who speak Mandarin and are of Chinese descent. No head coaches have been formally announced the show, though Le (9-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) appears to be a frontrunner.

UFC middleweight contender Chris Weidman faces his toughest challenge to date when he takes on champion Anderson Silva at UFC 162 on July 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The undefeated Weidman (9-0) earned his title shot by defeating Mark Munoz by knockout in his last outing. Following the Knockout of the Night victory over Munoz, Silva was reluctant to accept a fight with Weidman citing the 29-year-old’s lack of name value. Although frustrating at the time, Weidman is happy the match-up finally came to fruition. “Right after the Munoz fight it was frustrating to hear that they weren’t interested in me, but it is what it is. I guess when the UFC decided to make the fight happen, it happened. Everything happens for a reason. God had a plan and it worked out,” said Weidman on a UFC 162 media conference call. “I’m real excited for the fight, so I’m not really thinking back to the past and worrying about how frustrated I was. I kind of gave up on that and things kind of worked out well, so I’m happy,” he added

T.J. Grant had no idea yet that there was even a remote possibility his lightweight title fight might be in jeopardy. He found out from a fan while taking questions from fans at a Q&A session prior to the weigh-ins for UFC 161 nearly two weeks ago in Winnipeg that Anthony Pettis (16-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) had pulled out of his featherweight title fight against Jose Aldo (22-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) with an injury. It wasn't until later that he found out that Pettis was suggesting he could take the place of Grant (21-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) at UFC 164 in August against Benson Henderson (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC). That never came to fruition – but it still set Grant off a little bit, telling ESPN U.K. that Pettis lobbying to move past Grant into the title fight on his hometown card was "low class" and "dirty."
