Former Bellator Kickboxing champion Gabriel Varga signs exclusive deal with Karate Combat

Former Bellator Kickboxing champion and two-time Bellator veteran Gabriel Varga has signed an exclusive promotional agreement with Karate Combat. Promotion officials announced the new deal ahead of the company’s upcoming fourth season, which will debut early next year. A fourth-degree Shotokan black belt, Canada’s Varga (1-1 MMA, 18-6 kickboxing) competed twice in MMA under the Bellator banner, most recently in February 2020. However, he was much more established in the kickboxing world, earning both the Bellator and GLORY featherweight titles. Varga earned the Bellator belt with a 2018 win over American kickboxing standout Kevin Ross.

Bellator parts ways with nine fighters, including Roger Huerta, Brandon Girtz, and more

Nine fighters have parted ways with Bellator, including a pair of notable veterans. Bellator officials informed MMA Junkie that former UFC standout Roger Huerta and longtime featherweight Brandon Girtz are among those who have departed the promotion. Bellator 239 adds Gabriel Varga, Grant Neal, J.W. Kiser to growing lineup in Oklahoma

Three preliminary card bouts have been added to Belllator’s return to Oklahoma. A featherweight matchup between Gabriel Varga and Teejay Britton , a light heavyweight fight between Grant Neal and Claude Wilcox , and a heavyweight bout between J.W. Kiser and Davion Franklin have all been added to the Bellator 239 lineup. The event takes place Feb. 21 at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla. The main card airs on Paramount and streams on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie
