A women’s bantamweight fight between Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randamie has been added to the UFC: Fight for the Troops 3 card. UFC officials made the announcement on Monday. Nunes (8-3) made her UFC debut on Aug. 3 at UFC 163 against Sheila Gaff. She defeated Gaff by TKO in the first round.

Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate may not have the only rivalry in the UFC’s burgeoning women’s bantamweight division. With a successful promotional debut at Saturday’s UFC 163 event in her native Brazil, Amanda Nunes said her sights are set solely on a title fight. But before she gets there, she’s opening to settling some unfinished business. In an FX-televised preliminary-card bout at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena, Nunes (8-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) needed a little more than two minutes to fight off a rear-naked-choke attempt and score a TKO victory over Sheila Gaff (10-6-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC). Nunes said everything surprisingly went to plan. “I think (with) Sheila’s game, I think everyone who watched Sheila fight knows she’s very aggressive,” Nunes said after the bout. “But today was different. RIO DE JANEIRO – Amanda Nunes apparently had little interest in finding out what it would feel like to see Round 2 in her UFC debut. Against Sheila Gaff, the Brazilian bantamweight started fast and ended fast, earning a TKO stoppage via elbow strikes at 2:08 of the first round. The women’s bantamweight bout took place today at UFC 163 at Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. It aired on FX ahead of the pay-per-view main card. Nunes and Gaff signaled right away that theirs was not the kind of business that would likely take long to resolve. The two women met in the center of the cage and traded heavy leather in the opening seconds, though it was Gaff who initially tried to get the action to the mat. Nunes shrugged off an early attempt at a rear-naked choke, then muscled Gaff back to the floor moments later before unloading with a barrage of elbow strikes from inside the German’s guard that forced referee Herb Dean to call a stop to the bout.

Former Strikeforce Champ Sarah Kaufman Draws Olympic Medalist Sara McMann in UFC Debut

Former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight titleholder Sarah Kaufman makes her long awaited UFC debut against Olympic medalist Sara McMann on Aug. 28 on the second UFC on Fox Sports 1 fight card in Indianapolis. UFC Tonight made the fight announcement on Tuesday. Kaufman (16-2) has only been defeated by current UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and women’s featherweight contender Marloes Coenen . She is coming off a split decision win over Leslie Smith at Invicta FC 5 on April 5. McMann (7-0) is undefeated and made her UFC debut at UFC 159 on April 27 with technical knockout win over Sheila Gaff becoming the third female fighter to win inside the famed Octagon. The UFC on FS1 2 card is quickly growing with two more fight announcements being made on Tuesday via Twitter
