When Matt Serra returned to the welterweight division in 2005, the weight class was dominated by Matt Hughes . Hughes had just defeated Georges St-Pierre to win back the title after losing it to B.J. Penn . Prior to the Hughes and St-Pierre rematch at UFC 65, Serra was on The Ultimate Fighter 4 as a welterweight contestant. St-Pierre was a coach during the season and Hughes appeared as a guest coach. Serra and Hughes would go on to have an intense rivalry that began during the filming of TUF 4.

Georges St-Pierre has advice for Tom Aspinall

The Englishman has been calling to unify the belts since winning the interim championship in November 2023. The situation has been frustrating for Aspinall and his team. The fight promotion has worked hard to finalize the fight but have yet to close the deal. Former two-division champion and UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre offered some advice for the interim titleholder. “I think Tommy needs to focus on the next task,” St-Pierre said on T he Ariel Helwani Show

UFC returns to Montreal for UFC 315 pay-per-view event in May

The UFC is making its return to Montreal for the first time since 2015, and is treating Canadian fans with a pay-per-view event. UFC broadcast partner TVA Sports announced Friday that UFC 315 will take place on Saturday, May 10, at Bell Centre. No fights were announced for the event at the time. The UFC’s last trip to Montreal was on April 25, 2015, for UFC 186

The MMA life is coming fast for Elon Musk. It’s only been weeks since he and Mark Zuckerberg agreed to fight and it looks like he’s taking things very seriously. On Monday, July 3 a photo was shared of Musk training with former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre and famed BJJ coach John Danaher. The image was shared by AI scientist Lex Fridman who previously shared some images of Musk’s training. Had a great training session with @elonmusk , @GeorgesStPierre , and John Danaher last night. Everything about this was epic! pic.twitter.com/SkQLA0sYwI — Lex Fridman (@lexfridman) July 3, 2023 One of the greatest MMA fighters of all time training with Musk is a big sign that, at the very least, Musk thinks this fight could happen and wants to be prepared for it. “Great training session with 3 men that I really admire. Combined IQ in this photo is 1000. « Not including me »,” St-Pierre tweeted along with the photo of the four men. St-Pierre had offered to help Musk prepare for the potential bout on June 24. “@elonmusk I’m a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg,” he tweeted. So far no official fight has been made but it seems UFC president Dana White is keen on hosting, as are several international promoters.
