After 34 professional fights, Gerald Harris is hanging up the gloves. Sunday morning, Harris (25-8-1 MMA) posted a video of himself making his retirement announcement after his final fight Saturday night. Following a win over fellow UFC veteran Seth Baczynski at C3 Fights 48, Harris grabbed the microphone and told his Oklahoma home-state crowd he’s walking away from MMA. “I went to Bellator and I lost every single fight. Four fights. Three losses and a draw,” Harris said

Bellator’s latest event took place on Friday with Bellator 218, which went down at WinStar World Resort & Casino in Thackerville, Okla. The card aired on Paramount and streamed on DAZN following prelims on MMA Junkie. In the main event, Emmanuel Sanchez (18-4 MMA, 10-3 BMMA) returned to form as a featherweight contender when he outworked and outlasted Georgi Karakhanyan (28-9-1 MMA, 6-7 BMMA) to win a unanimous decision in a rematch of a January 2017 bout, which “El Matador” also won by decision. After Bellator 218 loss, Gerald Harris says he’s fought his last fight

It appears Gerald Harris is retiring once again. On Friday night at Bellator 218, Harris nearly knocked out Anatoly Tokov but came up short after Tokov survived a first-round barrage to come back and submit Harris in the second round of their Bellator 218 main-card fight from WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Okla. Afterward, Harris (25-8-1) thanked his fans and shared that it was the last fight on his contract as he hinted at retirement (via Twitter )

THACKERVILLE, Okla. – Gerald Harris was perhaps seconds away from his first Bellator win – and on another night, he might’ve gotten a stoppage. Harris (25-8-1 MMA, 0-3-1 BMMA) put Anatoly Tokov (28-3 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) in the first round and looked like he was on his way to a TKO win. But referee Kerry Hatley gave Tokov a chance to recover. He did so, made it to the second round, then put Harris away with a guillotine choke at the 0:47 mark of the middle frame.
