Flyweight Chad Robichaux signs with WSOF

Former Bellator and Strikeforce fighter Chad Robichaux has signed a multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting. WSOF officials confirmed the signing with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though a debut date is expected to be announced shortly. Robichaux (19-2), a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and longtime grappler, is a 14-year MMA pro who owns 17 submissions in 19 career wins. Robert Drysdale reportedly out of UFC 163 with staph infection

A staph infection reportedly will delay the UFC debut of Robert Drysdale , who’s been forced off next month’s UFC 163 card. The Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported the scratch. MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) could not immediately confirm the change, and as of Tuesday morning, the bout is still listed on UFC.com. Drysdale (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was slated to fight fellow light heavyweight Ednaldo Oliveira (13-1-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at UFC 163, which takes place Aug. 3 at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. Drysdale was slotted in the Facebook-streamed preliminary card, which precede additional prelims on FX and a pay-per-view main card. It’s not clear if a replacement will be sought. Drysdale, a world champion grappler who was born in the U.S.

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva puts his 17-fight winning streak and title on the line at UFC 162 on July 6 against Chris Weidman . Despite many people saying Weidman has the tools to challenge the champ, Silva says he is ready. “The fight is the fight. I’m ready for the fight for a long time,” Silva told UFC.com . “I will be prepared to fight.” In his seven-year title reign, Silva has beaten opponents by every way imaginable: front kicks, punches, knees, elbows, chokes. Twenty of his 33 wins have been by knockout. The champion attributes his success to his training. “I believe you train 100-percent, your results will be 100-percent,” he said. “Everything that I do in the fight are things that I’ve trained.” The undefeated Weidman (9-0) is an accomplished grappler, while Silva is the most accurate precision striker the sport has ever seen. It’s a classic contrasting styles match-up and Silva believes the fighter that is able to combine all aspects of fighting will emerge the winner. “Weidman got good jiu-jitsu and great wrestling.
