LFA looking California, feeling Minnesota for early summer events

LFA has started to set its schedule for the summer months with a pair of events in Minnesota and California in the weekends following Memorial Day. LFA 68 is set for May 31 at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minn., the promotion recently announced. And the following week, LFA 69 goes down at Morongo Outdoor Pavilion in Cabazon, Calif. Both events have main cards on AXS TV. In the LFA 68 headliner, two-time NCAA D-II national wrestling champion Raufeon Stots (11-1) takes on Brazilian prospect Gustavo Erak (21-4-1) in a bantamweight bout. In addition, Nate Jennerman (13-4) meets Luis Saldana (13-6) at featherweight in the co-feature and Brandon Jenkins (12-6) fights Le’Ville Simpson (8-4) at lightweight.

The day before their promotional debuts, Cody Gibson and Gustavo Erak were thrust into the LFA 51 main event. When women’s flyweight title challenger Jaimee Nievera (7-4) pulled out of her title bout against champion Sabina Mazo (5-0), the bantamweight co-feature between Gibson (15-7) and Erak (19-3-1) was elevated to top billing tonight at Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif. The main card airs on AXS TV

Jaimee Nievera pulls out of Friday’s LFA 51 title fight against champ Sabina Mazo

Just a day before the event, LFA 51 has a new headliner. Women’s flyweight title challenger Jaimee Nievera (7-4) has pulled out of her title bout against champion Sabina Mazo (5-0), leaving the show without a title fight. As a result, Mazo has been pulled from the card and the co-main event between bantamweights Cody Gibson (15-7) and Gustavo Erak (19-3-1). LFA 51 takes place Friday at Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif. The main card airs on AXS TV
