Pimblett was knocked down and badly hurt several times throughout the bout but managed to stay in the fight and inflict damage until the end. Despite losing to Gaethje, UFC commentator and former two-division champion Daniel Cormier believes Pimblett won over fans and silenced the doubters. “Very rarely does a guy elevate in a loss as much as I believe Paddy Pimblett will elevate in this loss,” Cormier said on his YouTube channel

The striking acumen was once again on display as Magomedov hammered Barriault with leg kicks, body kicks and even a few elbows to the head, which may have done the most damage in the fight. While Barriault hung tough and never went away, he just coulnd’t do the necessary damage to stop Magomedov’s striking attacks.

With blinding speed and power still on his side, Johnson kept Zellhuber guessing for much of the fight but a nasty punch in the second round scored a knockdown for the lightweight veteran that really helped him surge ahead. The punching power to the head and body made the difference with Johnson ultimately winning a decision with all three judges scoring the fight 29-28 in his favor.
