CageSport Champion Anthony Hamilton Ready to Stand Throw Down with Anyone

Following back-to-back wins to close out 2012, CageSport heavyweight champion Anthony Hamilton started off this year with his third win in a row by getting a 90-second arm bar submission of Will Courchaine at Rumble on the Ridge 27 in March. “I’ve been trying to stay more active, but that’s been tougher as I’ve moved up the ranks, so it was good to start 2013 with a win,” said Hamilton. “(The fight) didn’t last too long, so I didn’t take any injuries, and it’s always good to get in and out of there in a good fashion, so I was pretty happy about it.” The fight not only raised Hamilton’s winning streak to three in a row, it was also his third straight fight finishing a bout in less than two minutes. When asked if he feels he can gauge where he’s at with such quick performances or if he has to do that during training, Hamilton replied, “I train a lot down at Jackson’s in New Mexico, so it’s always a good gauge to see where you’re at training with guys like Jon Jones, Travis Browne, Frank Mir and guys like that.

Junior dos Santos not concerned that UFC champ Velasquez skipped tour stop

RIO DE JANEIRO – Junior dos Santos was surprised to find out his upcoming opponent, UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez , would not be accompanying him for a promotional trip to Brazil. But the jovial former champ insists he’s not upset. After all, he thinks the mental edge is all his. “For me, I don’t care about the other guys, other people,” dos Santos told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “They do whatever they want to do. Cain Velasquez skips out on final leg of UFC World Tour 2013

RIO DE JANEIRO – The UFC’s ambitious World Tour 2013 wraps up Friday in Rio de Janeiro, but one famous face will be missing from the announced lineup. UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will not take part in the final stop of the UFC World Tour 2013 after reportedly citing security concerns in Brazil. Combate.com first reported the fighter’s decision, and MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has since confirmed Velasquez’s withdrawal from several sources close to the event. Velasquez’s camp confirmed the champion will not be traveling to Brazil but said he never intended to, despite UFC announcements to the contrary. “He’s never been scheduled to go,” Heidi Seibert, a rep for Velasquez’s camp, told MMAjunkie.com.

Welterweights Adlan Amagov vs. T.J. Waldburger added to UFC 166

‘UFC World Tour’ takes UFC 165, 166, 167, 168 headliners to five countries

Press tours are nothing new for the UFC and its event headliners. But later this month, the promotion will take things to a new level. The UFC will take the headliners for UFC 165, UFC 166, UFC 167 and UFC 168 on a “UFC World Tour” that spans five countries over five days. And many of the events will be free and open for the public to attend.
