Fabricio Werdum Wants to Wait For Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos Winner

UFC heavyweight contender Fabricio Werdum wants to wait for the winner of champion Cain Velasquez and former titleholder Junior dos Santos . UFC Tonight recently reported the 36-year-old’s desire to wait for a title shot. Werdum (17-5-1) has won his three fights in the UFC since returning to the organization in February 2012, defeating Roy Nelson , Mike Russow and former champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira . The Brazilian also has notable wins over Fedor Emelianenko, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Alistair Overeem . Werdum last competed on June 8, and expects to be back in action in February or March, but has no problems waiting a bit longer for a title shot. Velasquez and dos Santos fight for a third time at UFC 166 on Oct. 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston. They split their two previous meetings

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey tries to emulate her favorite fighter, Fedor Emelianenko , in her fights. “My favorite fighter to watch ever I would say is Fedor Emelianenko,” Rousey said during a Facebook chat sponsored by Metro PCS on Wednesday. Emelianenko held the Pride FC heavyweight title from 2003 to 2006. In an eight-year span, the Russian strung together an unprecedented 28-fight winning streak. He’s widely regarded as the greatest heavyweight of all time. “He’s always going to be my favorite. It was the first highlight reel I ever saw of MMA. I loved his style and how he came from a Judo-Sambo background, and I really try to emulate his style every time that I fight,” said Rousey. UFC heavyweight contender Stefan Struve has an opponent in mind for his next bout, and the young buck is hoping to take out one of the most accomplished veterans in his weight class. Struve (25-6 MMA, 9-4 UFC) wants a fight with former PRIDE champion and ex-UFC titleholder Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (34-8-1 MMA, 5-4 UFC). As he wrote on Twitter : “Bigger they are, harder they fall huh @Minotauromma , lets back those words up and sign the contract, I’m waiting for you.” Struve first discussed the idea with Bleacher Report ‘s Damon Martin earlier this week. Dan Henderson Believes Rashad Evans is “Shy” about Exchanging in the Pocket

UFC light heavyweight contender Dan Henderson believes his UFC 161 opponent Rashad Evans is “shy” about exchanging in the pocket, but is aware of the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s wrestling ability. The difference between Evans and other opponents Henderson has faced is Evans’ ability to get the fight to the ground. “He’s a better wrestler than most of my opponents have been,” Henderson told former welterweight contender turned broadcaster Frank Trigg . “I think he gets a little nervous sometimes in there. I’m going to be pressuring him, but not overly aggressive where I end up getting taken down easy. I want to make sure I pressure and control the middle and wait for him to kind of come at me a little bit, but still just pressure him and be aggressive, but not to where I’m going to be getting taken down,” he said.
