On Friday’s RFA 34 main card, which aired on AXS TV from 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., bantamweight Riley (4-3), who turned pro just two years ago, upset 20-1 favorite and former UFC fighter Hugo Viana (8-4) in one of the night’s most competitive bouts. Check out the highlights above. RFA 34 results: Bojan Velickovic captures vacant welterweight title with submission win

Bojan Velickovic Benjamin Smith had an opportunity to win back the welterweight beltwhen he met Bojan Velickovic in the main event of RFA 34. Unfortunately for Smith, Velickovic had other plans. The welterweight title fight served as the headliner of the event, which took place at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo. The main card aired on AXS TV. Velickovic (13-3) was the better fighter in the clinch for the entirity of the fight and avoided the ground threat of Smith (15-4) when the action did hit the floor

Hugo Viana The main card is set for next month’s RFA 34 event, which features a welterweight title fight. As previously announced, RFA 34 takes place Jan. 15 at 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colo., and Benjamin Smith (15-3) and Bojan Velickovic (12-3) fight for the vacant 170-pound title in the main event. New additions to the card include a co-headliner between former RFA title challenger John Poppie (6-2), who was on a 4-0 run before his RFA 28 loss to Andrew Sanchez, and fellow middleweight Adam Stroup (10-2), a longtime Sparta Combat League fighter who had a short run on “The Ultimate Fighter 19” before an elimination-round loss to eventual show runner-up Dhiego Lima. Additionally, Coloradan light heavyweights Jeremy Kimball (11-5) and Cody Mumma (8-2) fight, and Hugo Viana (8-3), a “TUF: Brazil 1” semifinalist, fights for the first time since a 3-3 stint in the UFC when he takes on Zac Riley (3-3), who recently upset Shai Lindsey via 59-second submission on short notice.

Cannetti won with a trio of 29-28 scores – handing Viana his first career loss in Brazil. The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board suspended a total of 10 fighters, including six who drew indefinite terms, following Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 45 event. MMAjunkie received the list of medical suspensions from the commission, which oversaw the event at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. It aired live on FOX Sports 1 following a lone prelim on UFC Fight Pass. Jim Miller , whom Donald Cerrone stopped in the second round of the lightweight headliner, needs a checkup of his right forearm and his abdomen in order to be cleared to fight. Regardless, he is benched for a minimum of 30 days for the head kick and punches he took en route to his TKO loss. Additionally, women’s bantamweight Jessamyn Duke ‘s post-fight tweet of an X-ray showing a broken left hand was validated by the commission, which suspended her indefinitely pending clearance of the injury
