Joey Davis pulled off that feat in the first minute of his fight with Ian Butler at Bellator 192 in Inglewood, Calif., on Saturday night. While Butler (3-3 MMA, 0-3 BMMA) may have been more worried about the takedowns coming from a standout college wrestler like Davis (3-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA), the kick snuck in just below his defenses, with the full impact sinking in a moment later. Darrion Caldwell vs. Rafael ‘Morcego’ Silva completes Bellator 137 main card

Rafael Silva The main card for next month’s Bellator 137 event is set with the addition of a new bantamweight bout. Unbeaten Darrion Caldwell (6-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) will meet Brazil’s Rafael “Morcego” Silva (22-4 MMA, 3-1 BMMA), the promotion announced today. The bout will kick off the Spike TV-televised portion of the card. In addition, two new bouts have been added to the preliminary card.

Ortiz defeated fellow light heavyweight Stephan Bonnar , who earned $100,000, in the Spike TV-televised headliner at Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Bellator 131 card complete for San Diego with seven prelims

The lineup for next month’s blockbuster Bellator 131 event is complete with the addition of seven preliminary-card bouts. Chief among them is a middleweight bout between A.J. Matthews (6-3 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) and Kyle Bolt (8-3 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) and a featherweight bout between Rolando Perez (7-4-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) and Mark Vorgeas (5-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA). Bellator officials announced the preliminary card lineup on Thursday.
