Cristiane Justino After UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey ’s mom poked fun at Cristiane Justino on Tuesday, the Invicta FC featherweight titleholder has fired back. Rousey’s and Justino’s title defenses (which came at UFC 184 and Invicta FC 11, respectively) brought about the obvious question: Will Rousey (11-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and “Cyborg” (13-1) – arguably the two top female fighters in the sport today – finally face off? Although Rousey (and UFC President Dana White) have maintained such a fight will happen only at 135 pounds , “Cyborg” has pushed for a catchweight fight. When “Cyborg” then tweeted Rousey and asked if she needs the number for UFC Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, Rousey’s mom, Dr. AnnMaria De Mars, offered the following on Tuesday: “I’ll give you a number – 135.” That prompted a response earlier today from Justino

The two fighters are in action later tonight at Invicta FC, which streams on UFC Fight Pass from Los Angeles’ Shriners Auditorium. Grasso (6-0), a 21-year-old who’s become a quick hit after two spirited Invicta FC victories, takes on fellow strawweight Mizuki Inoue (8-3) in the co-headliner. In the main-card opener, Aldana (4-1), a 26-year-old who has three knockouts and a submission in four career wins, takes on veteran bantamweight Colleen Schneider (6-5). Shifts in weight class are commonplace in MMA, but not often do fighters abandon a division with an undefeated record. Bennett is doing just that. She makes her 115-pound debut Friday at Invicta FC 11. Bennett was on the verge of a flyweight title shot due to her perfect record, including two wins with Invicta FC. She hired a personal nutritionist prior to her most recent bout, and shortly after making that addition, it became apparent 125 pounds wasn’t her optimal weight.

Justino (12-1 MMA) – more commonly known by her nickname, “Cyborg” – has fought her career at 145 pounds, an entire weight class up from where Rousey (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) has competed since moving to bantamweight in March 2012. The sticking point of weight seemed to have been sorted out when “Cyborg” planned a drop to featherweight only to suffer an injury that delayed the move. Now, Cyborg returns to action on Feb. 27 , defending her Invicta FC featherweight belt against Charmaine Tweet (6-4). Not only is that one day before Rousey is set to defend her UFC bantamweight title against Cat Zingano (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), but both fights take place in Los Angeles. During a FOX Sports 1 interview over the weekend, Rousey was asked if she feels that the “Cyborg” move is raining on her parade.
