It was only a kiss. Laura Sanko wasn’t ready when Invicta FC champ Tonya Evinger (18-5) planted one on her after defending the belt in May, but it sure got people’s attention. Seven months after a clip of the unusual post-fight interview went viral, she can’t live it down. After signing on with the UFC as a backstage reporter, Sanko is still the girl that got kissed (via YouTube ): “I’m imagining the possibilities if we’d just gone to first base,” she joked to MMAjunkie Radio. “I could be an executive.

Colleen Schneider was as high as a +400 underdog entering her shot at Tonya Evinger and the bantamweight title at Invicta FC 17. She came up short, but showed enough to suggest she may have deserved a little more respect at the sportsbooks. Schneider (10-7) was game for five rounds against Evinger (18-5) never backing down from her more experienced and accomplished opponent. However, Evinger simply had more tools available as she repeatedly used trip takedowns to grind away for a unanimous decision victory. The bout was the main event of Invicta FC 17 from The Hangar at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. The entire event streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
