Polish prospect Agnieszka Niedzwiedz (10-0) remained undefeated, earning a hard-fought decision win over Vanessa Porto (18-8). The flyweight scrap headlined Friday’s Invicta FC 23 event, which took place at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo. The entire card streamed live on UFC Fight Pass. Porto found success on her feet early, setting the pace with her punches and leaving Niedzwiedz looking a bit uncomfortable. The action transitioned to the floor later in the frame, and Niedzwiedz threatened with a guillotine, but Porto patiently worked herself free. As the action returned to the feet, Niedzwiedz shot in with a beautifully quick takedown and then ended the round hunting for an anaconda choke that wouldn’t come before the bell

Gomes is undeniably a success story , having overcome drug addiction and homelessness in route to a mostly victorious, almost decade-long professional MMA run. Make no mistake: Gomes is thankful for what she has. But, for all she has managed to accomplish, the Brazilian fighter wishes she’d had more opportunities to perform. “I wish I had done more up to this point,” Gomes told MMAjunkie.

Filed under: News , Videos Invicta FC flyweight Agnieszka Niedzwiedz would love to make the transition to the UFC, but it won’t be through the upcoming 26th season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Niedzwiedz (9-0) headlines tonight’s Invicta FC 23 event opposite Brazilian veteran Vanessa Porto (18-7) while looking to further solidify her undefeated, promising name. Win or lose, however, don’t expect the Polish up-and-comer to audition for “The Ultimate Fighter” season that will crown the UFC’s first women’s 125-pound champion . “I’m not going to be part of ‘TUF,’” Niedzwiedz told interviewer Laura Sanko ahead of the UFC Fight Pass-streamed card at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo. “I have a little kid at home, so I don’t want to leave him for such a long time. I want a normal contract with the UFC, and normal fights, and if they can get a champion and I can fight with them, it will be better for me.” At 22, Niedzwiedz already boasts an impressive resume as she heads into her second Invicta FC bout. While wrestling is her main strength, the Polish prospect clearly has some finishing instincts; she’s either knocked out or submitted seven of her previous nine opponents.

Porto (18-7) enters the event, which takes place at Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Mo., and streams on UFC Fight Pass, coming off a unanimous-decision loss to Invicta FC flyweight champ Jennifer Maia (14-4-1) at Invicta FC 16 in March of last year.
