Kent Kauppinen marked his debut as a Cage Warriors fighter with a first: A decision win. Former Bellator campaigner Kauppinen (13-6) had claimed each of his previous victories inside the distance, but was forced to battle all the way to the scorecards against former middleweight title challenger Jamie Richardson at Cage Warriors 120 in London as he positioned himself as a serious title contender at 185 pounds. The first round saw Kauppinen immediately take the center of the cage as he walked down Richardson (9-7), who seemed happy to work off the back foot and frustrate the veteran. Despite his aggressive positioning, Kauppinen was economical with his output through the opening five minutes as he spent much of the round trying to draw shots from Richardson to open his man up for counter punches. Round 2 saw Richardson give Kauppinen what he wanted by upping his work rate and giving the former Bellator man opportunities to counter. A solid lead uppercut reminded Kauppinen that he had to be wary, however, as both men started to load up in the middle round.

Cage Warriors 120 kicks off the promotion’s three-night residency at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, with a battle between two middleweight contenders headlining the card. Former Bellator fighter Kent Kauppinen (12-6) will make his promotional debut after his release by the U.S. promotion earlier this year. The hard-hitting 29-year-old, who has a knockout win over Alessio Sakara on his record, will look to blast his way into immediate title contention against the last man to challenge for the belt.

Cage Warriors middleweight champion Nathias Frederick struggled with his footing in his first title defense at Cage Warriors 118 , but eventually planted his feet and scored a huge knockout to retain his title in London on Friday night. The event, which took place at the York Hall in the English capital, saw Frederick (9-2-1) take on Jamie Richardson in the main event, and the Birmingham native known as “Notorious” endured two frustrating rounds before finally connecting with a sledgehammer left hook that knocked Richardson (9-6) out cold seconds into Round 3. Things looked positive for the champion in the opening seconds of the fight, as Frederick dropped Richardson with his very first punch of the fight, a huge overhand right.

The lineup for Cage Warriors’ March return to its home stomping ground of London continues to grow with the addition of several new fights, including one with a UFC veteran. Danilo Belluardo (13-5) has signed with the promotion for a lightweight bout against the unbeaten Mason Jones (8-0), the promotion announced Friday along with several other bookings. In addition, former featherweight title challenger Steve Aimable (14-6) meets Perry Goodwin (9-7), and Scottish prospect Aidan Stephen (6-2) takes on Emrah Sonmez (11-2) at 145 pounds. Welterweights Hakon Foss (9-8) and Nathan Jones (13-9) have been booked for a meeting, as have Matthew Bonner (6-5-1) and Jamie Richardson (8-5) at middleweight.

Less than 1:30 into tonight’s headlining bout, Webb (5-1) closed in on the lengthy, studious Radcliffe (13-6) and landed a left hook that would cause his knees to give out from under him. Radcliffe’s delayed physical reaction made for a confusing sight at first, but it soon became clear that he was seriously disoriented. Cage Warriors 99 took place at Charter Hall in Colchester, England, and streamed live on UFC Fight Pass after prelims on Facebook.
