Three former champions highlight the 2025 PFL lightweight tournament field. On Wednesday, the PFL announced the eight-man field will consist of 2024 PFL champion Gadzhi Rabadanov (24-4-2), former Bellator champion and 2024 PFL finalist Brent Primus (15-4), UFC veteran and former Cage Warriors champion Mads Burnell (20-6), former Bellator title challenger Alexander Shabliy (24-4), 2023 PFL finalist Clay Collard (25-14), UFC veteran Marc Diakiese (18-7), Bellator veteran Alfie Davis (17-5-1), and Bellator veteran Jay-Jay-Wilson (10-1).

PFL fighter Jay Jay Wilson suspended by USADA after using cross-contaminated vape pen

PFL fighter Jay Jay Wilson was officially suspended Thursday by USADA after what appears to be a 10-month-long investigation into a cross-contaminated vape pen. USADA announced Wilson was handed a three-month suspension retroactive to April 1, 2024. That means Wilson’s suspension has already been served by an extra six-and-a-half months, as he was not permitted to fight between the positive test and the announced sanction.

NAC hands suspensions to Bellator’s Jay Jay Wilson, UFC’s Irina Alekseeva for failed drug tests

Two fighter suspensions were issued during the latest Nevada Athletic Commission meeting. Bellator lightweight Jay Jay Wilson and UFC women’s bantamweight Irina Alekseeva both received suspensions for failed drug tests, the NAC announced Tuesday. Wilson (10-1) tested positive for metenolone, an androgen and anabolic steroid prohibited on the World Anti-Doping Agency list, in a urine sample collected April 1 prior to his then-scheduled bout against Adam Piccolotti at 2024 PFL 2. He was given a nine-month suspension retroactive to the date of the failed drug test and will be eligible to compete on Jan. 1, 2025.

Diego Lopes’ Dana White-approved UFC 300 fence-hopping fine reduced to $2,500

The Nevada Athletic Commission is going to have to cut Diego Lopes a check after Friday’s hearing … sort of. Lopes was fined $5,000 when he hopped over the fence after his UFC 300 finish of Sodiq Yusuff in April. Friday, the NAC cut that suspension in half in an adjudication with Lopes. Officially, his fine will be $2,500 plus legal fees of $157.04. Because the commission already withheld $5,000 from Lopes, which was 5 percent of his $100,000 purse, he’s due the difference. At a prior hearing, NAC executive director Jeff Mullen said UFC CEO Dana White said he’d pay Lopes’ fine.
