The WWE announced today that Duke and Shafir have reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla., to begin training for their debut, joining Rousey and previous WWE signee Shayna Baszler in the ring

The wheels certainly appear to be in motion for Ronda Rousey ’s transition to pro wrestling. It all started after Shayna Baszler ’s second-round win in the Mae Young Classic tournament, which aired Monday on WWE Network. In a scripted segment, Baszler celebrated with Rousey and MMA teammates Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir , setting off a heated exchange with WWE stars Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Bailey, who were seated in the front row across the aisle. After last night’s episode, WWE.com shared an exclusive clip of Rousey, Duke and Shafir praising Baszler.

Invicta FC 18 official for July 29 with Alexa Grasso vs. Jodie Esquibel headliner in Kansas City

Invicta FC was targeting July 29 for its next event, and was hoping Cristiane Justino would headline. But despite leaving a spot open for “Cyborg,” as of now the promotion’s featherweight champ isn’t on the card. Instead, strawweights Alexa Grasso (7-0) and Jodie Esquibel (5-1) will headline Invicta FC 18, the promotion recently announced. Alexa Grasso Invicta FC 18 will take place July 29 from Scottish Rite Temple, in Kansas City, Kan. Scottish Rite Temple has been on the National Register of Historic Places for more than 30 years

CHICAGO – Elizabeth Phillips spent two rounds dominating Jessamyn Duke , and one round just barely surviving against her. Fortunately for Phillips (5-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC), the math worked out in her favor in the end, as she gutted out the final round against a surging Duke (3-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) to come away with the unanimous decision victory (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Sara McMann Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Sara McMann looks to get back into championship contention when she returns to the cage on Aug. 8 at UFC Fight Night 73 in Nashville. The Olympic silver medalist is set to battle hard-hitting Brazilian standout Amanda Nunes in a featured matchup on the card. McMann (8-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) was seen by many as one of the toughest tests for reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion – and fellow Olympic medalist – Ronda Rousey, but McMann’s bid for UFC title gold ended in quick and disappointing fashion when she was stopped by Rousey in just 66 seconds at UFC 170. McMann bounced back with a contentious split decision win over former Invicta FC champ Lauren Murphy in August, and she got off to an excellent start in her UFC 183 bout with top contender Miesha Tate in January. However, Tate rallied back after a shaky first round and handed McMann a majority-decision defeat.

Jessamyn Duke vs. Elizabeth Phillips added to UFC on FOX 16

Jessamyn Duke A second women’s bantamweight bout has been added to UFC on FOX 16, and this one may well fit the bill of a “loser leaves town” fight. Ronda Rousey’s running buddy, Jessamyn Duke (3-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) will take on Elizabeth Phillips (4-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) on the event. The fight was announced in the Glendale News-Press and confirmed on the UFC’s official Twitter account on Thursday night. UFC on FOX 16 takes place July 25 at United Center in Chicago. The main card airs on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Filed under: News , UFC , Videos The first trailer for next summer’s highly anticipated “Entourage” movie has been released by Warner Bros. Pictiures, and UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (10-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) isn’t the only UFC veteran to make an appearance. Rousey, of course, is the UFC athlete featured most prominently in the two-and-half-minute spot, but the MMA superstar’s friends and training partners known as the remaining member of the “Four Horsewomen” – UFC veterans Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke , as well as fellow judoka and MMA prospect Marina Shafir – also earn a bit of screen time in the trailer. “Entourage” is am upcoming feature-film continuation of the highly popular HBO series that ran from 2004 to 2011. The comedy-drama followed the career of lead character Vincent Chase (played by Adrian Grenier), his brother Johnny “Drama” Chase (Kevin Dillon), and childhoods friends Eric “E” Murphy (Kevin Connolly) and “Turtle” (Jerry Ferrara). Jeremy Piven also earned critical acclaim in the series for his portrayal of Chase’s agent Ari Gold, a character based on real-life manager Ari Emanuel.

Six, including Jim Miller, draw indefinite UFC Fight Night 45 medical suspensions

The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board suspended a total of 10 fighters, including six who drew indefinite terms, following Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 45 event. MMAjunkie received the list of medical suspensions from the commission, which oversaw the event at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. It aired live on FOX Sports 1 following a lone prelim on UFC Fight Pass. Jim Miller , whom Donald Cerrone stopped in the second round of the lightweight headliner, needs a checkup of his right forearm and his abdomen in order to be cleared to fight. Regardless, he is benched for a minimum of 30 days for the head kick and punches he took en route to his TKO loss. Additionally, women’s bantamweight Jessamyn Duke ‘s post-fight tweet of an X-ray showing a broken left hand was validated by the commission, which suspended her indefinitely pending clearance of the injury

Jessamyn Duke is chalking up today’s brutal UFC Fight Night 45 loss, at least partially, to karma. The 135-pounder suffered a first-round TKO loss to Leslie Smith after taking a series of punches and knees to the head and body, which included an especially effective punch to the ribs that set up the stoppage. But according to Duke (3-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC), her night was doomed even before Smith (7-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) unloaded.

ATLANTIC CITY – Onetime Invicta FC title challenger Leslie Smith (7-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) picked up her first UFC win by crowding the long and lanky Jessamyn Duke (3-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC). Smith got inside and landed a flurry of hard punches and kicks, including a crippling shot to the body, that sent Duke to the mat in the opening frame. The women’s bantamweight bout was part of today’s UFC Fight Night 45 preliminary card at Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following a single prelim on UFC Fight Pass. Smith, whom ex-Strikeforce champ Sarah Kaufman outpointed in her octagon debut, was declared the winner at the 2:24 mark of the first round when Duke fell to the mat and nearly took a knee to the face on her way down. Early on, Smith quickly closed distance on the 5-11 Duke and landed hard right hands.
