Ryan Jimmo The UFC roster is a revolving door of talent. Fighters are frequently signed, and in turn, others are let go. The latter was the case for the 15 fighters recently handed their walking papers from the organization.

Valerie Letourneau MONTREAL – Valerie Letourneau may have thought she could bully Jessica Rakoczy on the mat, but after “The Ultimate Fighter 18” finalist gave her a run for her money, she settled into a standup fight and earned a unanimous decision. Letourneau’s (7-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) striking and grappling was just a little bit better than Rakoczy (1-5 MMA, 0-2 UFC), who like her made a debut in the strawweight division. The women’s strawweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC 186 event at Bell Centre in Montreal. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass ahead of additional prelims on FOX Sports 1 and a main card on pay-per-view

The two-time All-American wrestler is set to face off against Polish kickboxing champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the co-main event of “UFC 185: Pettis vs. dos Anjos,” which takes place on March 14 in Dallas. Esparza (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) became the inaugural Invicta FC strawweight champion in her third bout for the promotion in early 2013, but after a planned title fight against Claudia Gadelha was scrapped on three occasions, Esparza joined 15 other women on “The Ultimate Fighter 20.” She defeated three straight opponents to advance on to the championship final, which culminated at the TUF 20 Finale this past month. TUF 18 Finale medical suspensions: Pena, Corassani among several with potentially lengthy terms

After taking an illegal knee to the face against Maximo Blanco , Akira Corassani will be on the shelf for as much as six months. Corassani was shut down by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a lengthy term – though the featherweight fighter can return earlier than that if his broken nose is cleared by a doctor. Even with the early clearance, though, Corassani will be shut down for two months. MMAjunkie on Monday requested and received a list of the medical suspensions from this past Saturday’s TUF 18 Finale event, which took place at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS – When it came time to decide the first female “Ultimate Fighter” winner, Julianna Pena was in no mood to wait around and let the suspense build. After charging across the cage and getting right in Jessica Rakoczy ’s face, Pena took the fight to the mat, got full mount, and unleashed a barrage of punches and elbows that forced referee Mario Yamasaki to step in and stop the bout at 4:59 of the first round. The “TUF 18″ women’s bantamweight final bout was the co-main event of today’s TUF 18 Finale event at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Despite a coed cast, the women pulled off a clean sweep of the season bonuses for “The Ultimate Fighter 18.” UFC officials announced the winners during tonight’s broadcast of the show’s live finale, which aired on FOX Sports 1 from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The winners, as determined by a fan vote, included Raquel Pennington , Jessamyn Duke , Jessica Rakoczy and Sarah Moras . “TUF 18,” which was the first season of the long-running reality series to include female cast members, featured men’s and women’s bantamweight tournaments. However, of the 16 official cast members, six women received fights at the live finale, but just the two male finalists were booked for the card
